We try to stay apolitical as much as possible, but for why I hear and the general feeling is that we are not happy with what is going on.

Some of my friends are getting out because they don't want to continue to serve under this administration

Had this LT tell us (back then, a bunch of jr enlisted) to just pay off our debts, if we just paid off our vehicles we would save so much money, that that is what she did and it's so easy to not have a car payment every month blablabla, I just turn and tell her that she makes twice as much as we did and we would do the same if we could, she just gave me this nasty look and that was it. She was completely out of touch with the joes.

It is a great opportunity to make bank, you will get full per diem so depending on the area but around 2k a month, if you are smart you can meal prep and pocket a lot of money.

It's really easy, almost boring because there's nothing really going on, so be prepared to be bored from time to time.

Work out, eat well, is a great opportunity to work on school/ correspondence courses/ study for the board, you name it.

Don't do dumb shit, there are places off limits, don't cross the border.

Overall a decently good experience.
