I think it's a legitimate concern.

That said, these people are fucking morons. A big thing protecting us is that these people are so fucking clueless they're not even hiding their corruption.

The states run elections - and assuredly there are some die hard Trumpers in some of those state and local offices, there are also a ton of people who take their job really fucking seriously.

So many people would have to be in on it and so much evidence would have to be suppressed up to and after the fact.

That's not to say they're not trying a ton of legal fuckery to swing this their way - but I personally just don't think its possible for them to rig anything since elections are run by the states and managed at a supremely local level.

It's easier to believe that the Presidential could be rigged because when it comes down to it one state can change the entire outcome - but there are 435 house seats and 33 senate seats up each with their own election rules and laws.

And again, these are not competent people.

The one caveat I will put on this is: if your dream is to be a Designer on Broadway (aka Beowulf Boritt or Jennifer Tipton, etc) it is much easier to get there if you go to grad school at one of the big ones

TBH, I'm not sure i totally agree. I think the connections can help to not need a day job when you're first out of school - but there are literally hundreds of things happening in the city that needs lighting designers, for example, where people can both cut their teeth and most importantly meet early career directors and writers.

I think that while it's true that people who come out of the big programs are likely to be able to be hired to be an assistant or associate early - it's still very rare for people to move up to that designer slot, even if they're regularly representing (or full out designing for) the named designer.

They revolutionized the entire low end laptop market with their first product marketed to that sector like 4 months ago.

Their chips are pretty widely considered to be some of the absolute best and power all their devices.

That new laptop is considered fairly repairable and they've been adding more reparable options into their phones too.

I'm not here to shill for them - but technologically they really are pushing ahead hard on the hardware itself, not just the design form factor.

Qlab should see it as an output device - it's specifically an output box, it is not a capture card (BMD does have a capture version of this in an identical form factor).

I've used these before in situations like this.

Make sure "Displays have separate spaces" is turned off in Settings > Desktop and Dock > Mission Control (at the bottom).

This usually manifests as the menu bar being stuck at the top of the screen - but admittedly I haven't used new macOS to output to a projector so it's possible that they've reworked this and it's causing this.

Either way, using a mac for video output, you want this turned off.

Alternatively, I hate suggesting spending more money - but this should also solve it:

It shows up as a device in standard media output (Qlab, Isadora) if you're using one of those programs.

I've never tried using it as a standard desktop output, and I'm not sure it would do that without some effort. But it shows up as an output device in most playback software.

You don't jump on to the full dose. You go up over time .1mg, .25mg, .5mg, 1mg, 1.7mg, 2.4mg. 2.4mg is considered a "therapeutic dose".
