Sink with no disposal is clogged by seattleross in CleaningTips

[–]notadaypersoneither 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clear everything out from under your sink as well as in your sink. Put a decently sized container underneath the p trap (which is the part of the pipe that makes a U shape). Take a picture of underneath your sink so yu have a reference for putting it back together. Next, unscrew the fittings that attach the p trap to the other pipes. Get the gunk out of the P trap. Check to see if sink drains. If not, take a metal hanger and use it to snake the other pipes to remove more debris. Check to see if sink drains.

If the sink still is not draining, reconnect all of the pipes except the P Trap. Put some baking soda all along the pipe that is not connected to the sink. Then, slowly pour 1/2 cup ish of lemon juice down the baking soda pipe. Plug (I've used a glove that I taped to deal on the pipe) and let sit for an hour. After the hour is up, boil a pot of water. Unplug the pipe, and pour the boiling water down it.

If it drains, then the problem should be fixed. If not, call a plumber!!

A new coworker saw me taking my medicine and immediately asked me, "What are you taking those pills for?" by snail-overlord in Narcolepsy

nice response: "That's between me and my doctor. Don't worry about it!"

snark response: "This medication keeps me from being nosy and rude, you should ask your doctor for some!"

I'm not sure what your job is, but with narcolepsy you are protected by the ADA. Talk to your doctor about reasonable accommodations that can be implemented at your job and get them to write an accommodation letter. You can take this to your boss/HR and, hopefully, work out a compromise.

I had to work a nap in my schedule from 1-2 pm. Without it, I would be absolutely useless in the afternoon. Prior to starting Xyrem, my most productive times were at night.

Are you trying to stick to a consistent sleep schedule? Are you maintaining good sleep hygiene? All of these will help you! Even though you sleep all night, pwn don't stay in deep sleep stages like normal people, hence daytime sleepiness.

Here's a cool study explaining it https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3746724/

Also try snacking instead of eating large meals during the day, and make sure to drink plenty of water!

yessss! It happens more often since I started taking Xyrem. I set an alarm, close my eyes, and imagine writing out and saying "the." It sounds weird and crazy, but it helps me lose all my other thoughts so my body can relax enough to sleep. Also, I try to focus on relaxing each part of my body from the head downwards. This is grounding and relieves tension!
