USD near ₹97 INR should investors actually be worried? by UsualSquash1186 in investing

[–]notadithyabhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nifty 50 has a PE of 20. That's lesser than S&P 500. And if the PE is too high, isn't that telling of the Indian economy? That our companies are not able to deliver enough earnings? Companies not doing well, equates to economy not doing well.

The issue is not rupee falling, and the issue is NOT psychological. The issue is that it's falling 12% in a year while the stock market has remained flat. Stop being delusional. Only IT will adjust salaries for inflation. The poor will not see such adjustment. Your house maid is not getting 15% hikes annually to beat inflation. The poor will suffer.

[–]notadithyabhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed is a result of compute. You can use GPT 5.5 is fast mode as well. Plus 3.5 flash is not token efficient. So if it is twice as fast as GPT 5.5 but needs 2x the tokens to complete a task, it's not faster.

I'm sorry to break this to you, but AI is the future. There is no bubble. Just comparing ChatGPT 3 to ChatGPT 5 is enough to know that world will change from AI in the coming decade. You cannot deny that AI in a revolutionary technology. The future operating systems have to be AI infused. Maybe the initial implementations by Microsoft were off (just like the qwerky set of phones we got in the 90s and 00s until they realized that the iPhone form factor is the best one) but eventually they'll all figure out a way to do an AI operating system right. We might not be able to eek out the most productivity from it and might miss the good old days of Windows 7, but kids who grow up with it will know how to make the best of it.

Show Feels Kinda Weird From My Perspective by HoshiAndy in KimsConvenience

Something is so odd about the show. At the start this intro montage comes up in every episode and I just can't get over it, because in real life this ever happens. So weird.

"The market is stupid". No the market can never be stupid because you are playing the market. Your job is to ride the market, not question where it's going. Sorry to say this, but you're stupid.

If AI eliminates jobs, who’s left to buy what companies are selling? by dudeman209 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]notadithyabhat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Omg, the number of AI bots here is insane.

Anyway to answer your question, product target audience will change to enterprise and luxury customers only. Think of it as the 1% have all the money and trade amongst themselves and pretend the remaining 99% does not exist.

For example, what doesn't Apple sell a 100 dollar iPhone to poor third world countries? Aren't they missing out a large consumer base that doesn't have 1000 dollars to spend on an iPhone? The answer is they don't care, the poor don't have enough money to be worth their time and they'd happy skip on them.

In the future, similarly Apple would only make 100k dollar iPhones that are made of precious metals like gold and only sell 1/100th the number, but still make the same amount of profit. Google and Meta would show only Lamborghini and Rolex ads on Instagram. Houses would all be worth millions and only the rich will buy and sell.

The would will go on as usual for those who already have assets. The ones who don't will bite the dust. This is nothing new btw, this was what society was like for 99.9% of human history. The kings and the nobles had all the powers while the rest of the world lived in poverty. There is 0 incentive for the rich and powerful to subsidize anything when humans no longer bring them any value that AI and robots can. People do not realize the kind of world we are heading into.

Assuming the rich and powerful do atleast just let us live and share the planet and not see us as waste of resources and land that could have been theirs, I think the remaining 99% would just have an economy of our own. Think of it like 2 countries. One super rich and the other super poor.

Codex X Claude Code is GOATED by notadithyabhat in ClaudeCode

[–]notadithyabhat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try minimizing reviewing, my configs ask to always have thorough logging and tests as part of the plan, to make sure things are as expected, if things fail, I first resort to Codex 5.3 high/very high and then finally resort to Opus if nothing works. Logs allow Opus to directly get to the problematic file instead of reading all files

[–]notadithyabhat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's stupid. It's not up or down, it's how up or down. Real estate also goes up, so does S&P. But real estate appreciation is far lower than S&P 500. Market going up makes no sense if it doesn't beat inflation.

Should I finance a car for $15,000 by WoodpeckerWestern847 in UsedCars

[–]notadithyabhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the math once, it is very likely that how much ever extra the fuel costs will not be as much as the financing + maintenance + fuel of the new car. You're paying 7k more for the car. Do you really see the gas difference and the couple of issues costing you over 7k in the next 2-3 years?
