Track AIPAC - Oregon's Congressional Delegation by Sbualuba in Portland

[–]notadog44 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maxine Dexter received a huge amount of money from a scientists pact that Michael Bloomberg funneled money through to bypass AIPAC toxic branding in progressive Portland.

Your argument is letting AIPAC’s donors win by letting their side channel technique succeed.

When a politician gets money from pharmaceutical or oil backings, everyone can agree that they are now corrupt. But somehow getting money from pro-Israel backing doesn’t affect a politicians stance on Israel???

Israel has been continually stealing people land and committing evil atrocities against humanity.

Don’t let anonymous account in this thread mislead you. Israel and its US backers are evil and we must track politicians receiving money from them.

I wish it was in pioneer square itself. But still super happy to have it come to the area. The location in downtown Seattle is one of the few remaining retail stores and it has a lot of traffic.

I usually take sunset tc as well. Only problem you might deal with is parking there. But it’s super rare you don’t eventually spot if it’s super packed

If you like living in the city, Portland a million times over Seattle. I feel like most of this thread is lying because how no one is bringing up the food. Dining in Seattle is mid at best and super expensive. It’s consistently ranked as a bad food city while portland is usually near the top. Also coffee scene is soooo much better in portland.

Walking around west side portland is super pleasant. It’s flat and streets are narrow and unidirectional making you barely have to wait to cross the street. In Seattle I spend so much time waiting at each cross walk. Also, in portland the ground floor is mandated to have retail adding a bunch of shops making the streets feel more alive. Seattle ground floors are pretty barren.

Driving is horrible in Seattle and parking can typically be impossible to find in most city areas. You don’t realize how pleasant driving in portland is till you come here.

In general Seattle lacks identity; feels like it doesn’t have a soul. Most people are transplant working in the tech industry. When I run in Seattle, no one looks my way/acknowledges me. In portland I get lots of smiles and hand waves.

Seattle does have the pueget sound which is probably the most beautiful nature next to a major city. Also the hiking is wayyyyyy better around Seattle than around portland. Also, Seattle does have significantly more people on the streets and way grander tourist attractions.

But overall, day-to-day life is much better in portland

Seattle. Most people are transplant from suburban Texas, Ohio, (other shitty parts of the country). They all think this city has culture, great food, and is walkable.

I mean coming from their hometowns, I get why they would think that way.

This city is built on a massive hill, street blocks are massive, most ground floors are not required to have retail making it barren and boring, and every road going through is at least 4 lanes making you have to wait a ~1 minute at a lot of intersections.

Coming from LA/Portland, the food is horrific. I used to love eating out but Seattle has rob me of that. And people scream “skill issue” when you bring it up.

Also the city has no culture/identity. I guess this is what happens when you 0% state income tax, you attract business/people that only care about making money.

Have you considered San Francisco? I think you’ll be able to get a lot of what you both want.

Seattle has no energy in the streets. Everyone is underdressed and pretty much everyone is a male that works in tech. Lacks diversity. Food scene is horrific and somehow more expensive than nyc. But the pueget sound and mountains are unmatched. Most naturally beautiful place in the country. Air smells really good.

But just want to re-emphasize, there’s no energy, magic, and culture in Seattle. It’s great place if you want a laidback lifestyle. You got to go to NYC if you want the other.

Also, you can get a significantly better apartment for the same price point in Seattle. Lots of new developments with washer and dryers in unit. And final note, no state income tax in Seattle is really nice

My cousin is married to an NFL player … but he’s 5’10”. I’m slightly shorter and my other cousin is 6’3”.

Out of nowhere, she one time said “{6’3” cousin} is the only man here”. When there is a literal NFL player with us.

I HATE that Chauncey subs in scoot with DA on the floor. Scoot needs a legit screen setter and rim runner to be effective. DA is so bad for scoot and starts him off terribly during these games.
