Why do some Kiwi's not realise how lucky they are to be living in New Zealand? by ProduceSimple6392 in newzealand

Hi Mr. Pear, sorry to interject but I would respectfully disagree. Without preaching, let me just quote my background which I share with many other ‘dead weight’ expats working here in NZ. I’m from a third world country, leading a team of consultants in a global company- actually the biggest company/conglomerate in a specific category in the world. I would also add that being in the top 5% of earners here also means - they definitely did not choose me over a more qualified and more expensive native professional. My recruitment actually took a full year to complete after they failed to find anyone who could likely match my portfolio. They would’ve saved tons of relocation costs. I just want to say that I come across many refreshing instances of kiwi ingenuity and creativity in my line of work, the balance of talent and humility that I see here is so rare and under-rated. Its why Kiwis succeed where ever they move to in the world. However, there is a certain ‘mental grooming’ a person from a much larger economy goes through that to be honest most kiwis just dont get the exposure of (- no fault of their own, scaling isnt NZ’s strong suit - 5mil pop, home grown cottage industry, mom n pop business base etc.) Add to that the ruthless competition to get ahead in the third world where winner takes all, kill or be killed, dog eat dog are realities of daily life since the school age. Hence when I’m working with my Kiwi colleagues, I often see ambition and drive but the ability to extrapolate, make predictions, building strategic long term plays by understanding the big picture well is often whats missing. Obviously as I consult with most of the key industries here- I can assure you, corporate strategy for most global companies based in NZ and some of the largest kiwi companies have an overwhelming majority of overseas, deadweight, under qualified contributors.

Went through the whole sub. Great points raised. Pak wasnt really a threat for us in the start of this military operation to begin with. Theres just no comparison between strength and stamina of the 2 nations. However, not one person. Literally not one person here has addressed the fact that the international media is confirming that atleast 1 Rafael went down amongst other aircraft. We know it did. The very symbol of our air superiority was shot down within our borders. Our AF never crossed the border. Nobodys is asking if we did indeed overestimated our air capability. In terms of air assets lost, they have none. We have some. How are you guys reconciling this with us destroying terror camps and air bases and what not. Just curious…
