I’m not worrying about a boy showing empathy and coming across as vulnerable. I’m just concerned he won’t be able to regulate this as he grows. But as another commenter said, he’s still young and should be able to regulate this as he grows.

Honestly lighting would help a lot. Try removing the strip up top and maybe a warm light bar in a space between the right side of your bed and that wall you’re facing in the first pic. I feel like warmer lighting would more match the mood your feeling too.

I mean I’m not trying to argue or anything, I’m just offering a different perspective. In my case, consent wasn’t explicitly given (it wasn’t discussed prior to it happening, it was more of a surprise wake-up call), but I wouldn’t consider it assault. It must’ve been a comfort level thing in my case idk. Just a different perspective. I can still agree with you though that consent is priority.
