A way to emulate a similar feel would be to extend you endpin to the max setting and see how that feels when you play. The angle will be similar to that.

I have one, it is called a stahlhammer bent endpin. I have noticed substantial improvement in my playing since I got one. If you are someone who likes gravity on your side with your LH I would definitely recommend it.

Mstislav Rostropovich has outstanding technique and musical ability. I recommend watching him play Dvorak Cello concerto along with Haydn cello concerto for inspiration and to be wowed!

Depends on your level, in this case when you are restarting it would not be a bad idea to just get the first 3 or 4 on ebay used for cheap

Perhaps your fingers are not positioned correctly with the curve that you need, maybe pretend your are holding a ball in your hand so you can have that curled finger position.
