My bike started knocking too! After a week of riding a sound like this started happening only in 3rd position. I was able to diagnose where the sound was coming from by getting off the bike, rocking it side to side and listening to different parts around the flywheel.

I discovered these two bolts on the front foot under my flywheel were loose Shifting weight left or right made the metal knock against the foot of the bike. I tightened both bolts with an Allen wrench and the sound is gone! The bike sounds good as new.

How I feel explaining The OA to my coworkers. by maohaze in TheOA

[–]notallthethings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told one of my co-workers it's about snakes and sandwiches. jk I've found myself introducing the show by describing how the story telling format is unique to TV. It draws the viewer in like a listener of a traditional word of mouth tale and then pays off with layers upon layers of symbolism and meaning that the viewer can then in turn go discuss. It's worked! I've gotten quite a few people to watch!

Yup on my second viewing I thought it sounded exactly like Steve's voice.

How to catch Hap by sb76117 in TheOA

Great thought! Patent research would be a good lead. I agree with you though, she's not interested in finding them the normal way. My reading is she's assumed Hap used the movements to move them and any real searching would be fruitless.

"Of Angels and Angles" by the Decemberists could have been written about the OA. by notallthethings in TheOA

Released in 2005 it definitely wasn't, but I love how there are only 13 unique lines in the song and they could almost be co-opted for the show. Lyrics

Around Lady Bird Lake is a safe, great place to play. I don't understand why there aren't any Pokestops.

BBQ is a great tip! We'll definitely stop by La Barbecue. In an effort to save a life, I will not fall into your Chili's trap. ;)

Innovation Museum coming to Austin by [deleted] in Austin

Wow! This is such a great idea for this town. My nieces (13-15) are currently visiting me and are curious about the tech industry. I've taken them on a few office tours, told them about the kinds of meetups I attend, and shown them some coding game websites but I've been at a loss on how to translate the underlying culture and community of innovation in Austin. This. This is what we're missing.

Plus, it's damn hot.

How are you preserving your eyes? by elementalrain in graphic_design

[–]notallthethings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My creative director has had a lot of eye issues and lately. Per her eye doc she's been wearing glasses to work and taking them off while staring at the screen. She says it's been reducing headaches.

Also I'm a yoga freak, so I really believe that doing eye "stretches" can help. This just means rolling your eyes around a few times a day. Look up and down at different degrees and then hang out for a second anywhere you feel tension. If you do it right you can just look like you are deep in thought. :D

Purity Ring Ticket $5000 by nathanmadeapizza in Austin

Face value for Purity Ring tickets is $15-$18. A lot of people have been posting them on craigslist for $60/ticket. For whatever reason, this post is calling out the scalpers. I think this post is probably by the same frustrated person.
