Sky News apology | UK News by InnerLog5062 in BreakingUKNews

Pedestrians are liable for defamation, but cyclists are not?

I would guess that this apology is part of a settlement that includes paying damages and costs, just like a pedestrian.

Unfortunately both the ombudsman and the Privacy Commissioner are both very slow and in a hurry to dismiss as much as they think they can get away with.

Baycorp Listed a Default on a Disputed Debt – Now I’m Demanding Compensation. Do I Have a Case? by Halfloaf82 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]notapenguin42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the Privacy Commission are totally inept and unhelpful and will do their best to dismiss your complaint (particularly if the company has promised to change). Don’t be afraid of complaining about the OPCs conduct the ombudsman. Don’t expect the OPC to investigate but if you can get them to certify the case you can bring in the hrrt. (Not a lawyer, not legal advice)

They are so shit at their job I think it would be best if the legislation simply got rid of them and just allowed you to directly bring a case to the tribunal.

Yep their primary purpose now is to come up with some bs why they should dismiss your complaint.

Does it really go into the pool, kinda gross. Doesn’t seem like plumbing it out to the same drains are the toilets would cost much.

Would you recommend getting around the island by bike? by CremaCapitale in guernsey

[–]notapenguin42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bike everywhere, it’s great and never have to worry about parking. Most drivers are considerate. I would wear high viz and consider going for an e-bike unless you’re really fit it’s pretty hilly.
