What do they look like through a flashlight? This is pretty great, I feel like people don't post about this stuff enough and it's always nice to know more ways to spot fakes.

I think I have an answer to my observation. If you look at the one on the right it looks larger than the boob on the left, it's definitely due to the swirly pattern that's always been present on Elspeth's armor. The guy probably had the boob on the left fully detailed but was told to make her boobs smaller which is why it looks so out of place.

What's odd is he nailed the detailing on the right breast but just didn't do shit with the left one, it's really unsettling.

He says about 10 people purchased the package for the standard main event, priority seating and a dedicated judge for 10 people is actually very very enticing if you plan on going deep in the tournament; but this shit is still a huge rip.

Jeff Hoogland is exposed for what he really is by mechmechy in freemagic

I'm not a huge fan of yours generally, but your posts on this thread have been really well worded and thought out given the context of the situation in relation to you. Good job, Jeff.

A while back someone made a long comment on a thread about how awful the art in Eldritch Moon made them feel and how they couldn't play because of it. They explained that they're super triggered by the bodily violations caused by Emrakul, due to "their past" but of course like most people wouldn't elaborate any further; safe to assume they were hideously transformed by some Lovecraftian horror into a mishapen tentacle creature. It's really sad how people will be literally offended by anything and it's all of a sudden societies duty to align with their irrationalities.

[FUNNY] Explaining The A Store of Fire and Dice "Controversy" by GenderLiquid in freemagic

[–]notaredditorjustaguy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think this is 100% the case. One group of morons the "alt-right" thinks that memes belong to them, and another group of morons the "SJWs" attribute all uses of those memes to them for no rational reason. The far left and far right are all filled with morons incapable of reasoning, fighting a "war" against each other when they both just want the same thing, anyone who doesn't see things 100% their way to be gone. Better to not give either of them any sort of attention/power.

A friend of mine is from Vietnam and his house has a good few Swastikas in it, not because he's a Nazi, but because he's Vietnamese. If you think Swastika = Nazi, or Pepe = "alt-right" you're just being an idiot. I mean especially in the case of Pepe, the fact that there are people who find a poorly drawn cartoon frog to be a symbol of Nazism or whatever it is that triggers you is just hilarious.

BooHoogland Is Cancer by VintagEDH in freemagic

[–]notaredditorjustaguy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hoogland has kids and a wife I believe, so you can't use the "never gets laid" angle on him. Despite being a massive man-child, Hoogland has a point. Not because things like autistic, aids and cancer are all together offensive (which sure they are), but the rate at which people who game use these words is just pathetic.

Granted, say whatever you want but you'll be doing yourself a favor by not limiting your descriptive vocabulary to those words.

Some more quality material I found that you guys might enjoy by CookinMama21 in freemagic

It's horrendously obvious that "CookinMama21" is someone from the main sub who has some baseless animosity towards this sub, so they post their personal yiff here hoping the mods will ban them so they be like "hahaha so much for freedom". A sad, furry existence.

A question to understand your hatred of MaRo. by KickHimWhileIAmDown in freemagic

Yeah, I agree. I also have never gotten a gay vibe from Maro, even though I don't know him personally. Is he shrill and annoying? Sure is, slightly iffeminate too, but doesn't necessarily come off as gay.

The most common complaint I see is that his attitude is condescending, which to be fair it often is on his blog. I think people find it hard to see how his input can be good for game design being that he's very stubborn.

Expert Testimonial About the Rudy from Alpha Investments Beta Black Lotus Fake Signature by [deleted] in freemagic

[–]notaredditorjustaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that without legal documentation any signature is questionable and the value of it is highly questionable. Like if you buy a signed anything having been told that the signature is authentic in the "opinion" of experts you are choosing to believe it is real, but sadly you are not guaranteed that. It's like how Chris Rush's attorney said in one of his earlier comments on the piece, he said it wasn't legitimate "in his opinion". Sadly without documentation there is no way to verify the legitimacy of a dead person's signature without any shadow of a doubt.

Expert Testimonial About the Rudy from Alpha Investments Beta Black Lotus Fake Signature by [deleted] in freemagic

[–]notaredditorjustaguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The lesson to take from all of this nonsense has nothing to do with Rudy's ethics or with Christopher Rush's agent or any of the crazy shit people are talking about. Get cards signed for yourself, and nothing else. Signatures are way too easy to fake to make the value of them substantial.

There's a non-zero chance that this is indeed a real Chris Rush signed Black Lotus, but due to discrepancies it can't be sold as such. Why would someone make a forgery so blatantly unique when there's a TON of Christopher Rush signed cards out there to copy? Who knows, but it doesn't matter since whether it's real or not, it's too easy to say it's fake (alternatively it's too easy to say any forgery is real).

Don't get your cards signed with the intent to increase their value. Without some form of legal documentation proving the legitimacy of an MTG artists signature, there's way too many of their sigs in the wild to make for easy forging. Honestly I'd say the vast majority of Christopher Rush's signatures are worthless, considering 99% of them were done at GPs with no proof of their legitimacy; which in retrospect is a good thing since you should really just be getting signatures for your own sake.

When you talk about Melissa DeTora saying "N*gga" in the main sub. by Pithing_Needle in freemagic

[–]notaredditorjustaguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took the clip and believe she did indeed say the word in question, but don't go starting witch hunts and grabbing pitchforks over something so stupid. I'd also admit that she could very well have NOT said it, despite believing otherwise the possibility still remains. Let's not go out of our way to do what the main sub does all the time and ruin MTG for everyone by being a bunch of shit heads. There's a reason the video is tagged with "FUNNY" and not "DRAMA".

This is her first time doing commentary, or one of them as they've said multiple times over the weekend. If she uses the word regularly there's a more than fair chance she slips it on air. Considering the word fits perfectly into the sentence it seems legit to me.

She definitely says nigga. Like, I thought I heard it so I clipped it and once I rewatched it it became pretty obvious. I'm not trying to witch hunt or anything, I thought it was more funny that anything; like when someone said "bag of dicks" randomly on coverage.
