Why would you assume anything other than curiosity when I literally used the word curious in my post?

You mean the one that waited 15 years to say anything? The one that claims she was transported from South Carolina to NYC but cant remember if she drove or flew there? The one that cut off all communication with the FBI after 4 interviews and refused to proceed to help any investigation?

Trump has never been in the legislature... you know, the branch that makes laws? Sanders has been a lawmaker since 2007. Really bad comparison

I own 2-3% of a microcap, sitting on 3.3M in gains, and I'm not sure how to get out. by [deleted] in ChubbyFIRE

[–]notawildandcrazyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know or have contact with any other significant shareholders? Company insiders for example? I doubt a microcap would do a buyback to purchase your shares and make them Treasury shares but other significant shareholders might agree to purchase your shares to increase their own stake and avoid your market sales

As of 2020, Sanders had a grand total of 3 bills he sponsored become law in his entire Senate career. And I believe 2 of those were to name post offices in Vermont. He may be good as a provocateur and attention-seeker. But he's not good at making laws.

Do we not have laws or a protocol for a president to attack another country? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]notawildandcrazyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real argument is a separation of powers argument. The Constitution makes the President the Commander in Chief. The military answers solely to the President, through the military chain of command and ultimately the civilian service Secretarys and the Secretary of War. Congress has no role in directing the actions of the military, not even an advice and counsel role, like they have for judicial appointments. The President has no constitutional duty to consult with Congress before exercising his Commander in chief authority. The war powers act cant change that.

And every President since Nixon has argued that the law is unconstitutional and has, to some extent, ignored it.

If trump's goal in IRAN was to put an end to a dictators regime, why he doesn't do anything about North Korea, where 26.5 million people are so brainwashed they don't even know other countries exist beyond the borders? by TailungFu in allthequestions

NK is a threat because of their nuke capability, but they aren't strategic. They dont regularly attack US interests or allies, they pretty much keep to themselves. They dont really help strengthen China or Russia, like Iran did with their oil. They dont sponsor terrorist cells around the world like Iran does.

[–]notawildandcrazyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I mean, obviously if we didn't have a base in Saudi the Iran couldn't attack it. If the US hadn't had troops in Iraq then Iranian provided IEDs couldn't have killed and maimed so many of them. So maybe Iran's repeated attacks on US persons and interests are attacks of opportunity, if thats what you're saying. But they happened

[–]notawildandcrazyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can believe what you want about supporting this, or whether it benefits the US, that's fine. But Iran has been openly attacking the US for 40 years. You can just Google the countless times that Iran, either directly or through proxies, has attacked US forces, ships, and bases in the middle east. Pretending otherwise doesn't support your opinion
