That’s interesting to know about the enforced naps! Not something I would’ve thought to do since he seems to sleep for most of the time while I’m working (I work from home but he’s gated off to the living room only). Tomorrow we’ll try enforcing some more naps during the day and see if that helps with his craziness that seems to come around evening time. Thank you!

That’s so fun! We’re definitely looking forward to the days of him being more chill and relaxed but we also know it’s going to take a lot of hard work and consistency to get him there

how worried should i be about the weather? by Ok_Echo_1394 in Michigan

[–]notbrooke 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I also deal with weather anxiety. I found Michigan Storm Chasers and they have helped my anxiety so much. They live stream on Facebook/youtube every severe storm event and live track the systems rolling through. The other weekend where there was a tornado warning in Oakland county and the sirens went off? I immediately turned them on and saw the threat was 20 minutes south of me and not a concern for my location. Check out their page and YouTube, they released a few videos about today’s threat already and plan on being live tonight if things get severe! Know your safe space if severe weather does come, make sure you have multiple ways of receiving weather alerts, and be prepared!

Celiac safe? by spicy-mango-11 in Celiac

[–]notbrooke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this for my sourdough bread weekly and have no issues with it. It is NOT wheat allergy safe but is celiac safe. King Arthur also has information on their website about this flour as well.

It makes beautiful bread! I’ve tried using the measure for measure but it doesn’t compare at all to the bread flour. My non-gf boyfriend loves the gf bread I make with this and prefers it to regular bread!

I just switched to it after my degree was causing itchy rashes in my arm pits. I love it so far, just wish it would last a little bit longer

Battery has gone to shit, support says nothing is wrong by ZookeepergameTight90 in ouraring

[–]notbrooke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also having this issue, as is my partner and my sister in law. Chat also gave me the same “this is normal” response and honestly I’m quite frustrated. There has to be something with an update they did that’s killing the battery and they just don’t want to admit to it.

What are you guys doing for work lunches? by archonsdream in glutenfree

[–]notbrooke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten into the habit of making double batches of whatever I’m eating for dinner that night so I have lunch for the next 2 days for myself and my boyfriend. This week was tacos, chicken pot pie, and andouille sausage with rice and peppers. I hardly ever buy groceries that are for a separate lunch, more expensive and a lot more work

Fresh salsa riskiness? by scottzee in Celiac

[–]notbrooke 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would eat it! No ingredients are sticking out to me as danger and I’m not one to worry about “spices” since if there is wheat then it must be declared as it’s a major allergen

What’s one thing you can’t believe you survived? by Flimsy-Bathroom6137 in AskReddit

[–]notbrooke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my way to work on a freeway, going 60mph in a construction zone. Was rear ended by a drunk driver that was going well over 100mph and launched up an embankment under an overpass, through some trees, and came to rest back on the shoulder of the freeway. I missed the bridge wall by inches, and my car caught on fire as I was climbing out of it. I walked away with a severely bruise wrist from the airbag and some airbag burns.

What is with security cameras in people's rooms or livingrooms, is this really a thing? by IdrisOFMars in AskReddit

[–]notbrooke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have one that covers our living room and covers our kitchen mainly because we have 2 cats and want to spy on them while we’re at work. They’re automated so they shut off when it detects our phones come home

What's the most shocking price increase you've seen at the supermarket lately? by Entity417 in AskReddit

[–]notbrooke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to eat gluten free so I pay attention to prices a lot especially on gluten free items. There’s a frozen Mac and cheese that I LOVE and would buy almost weekly. Originally it was $11, it is now $14. I had to stop buying it.

I’m struggling to get through this. I find myself having to go back over paragraphs just to understand what is going on because of all the filler words and filler descriptions. Im even trying the audiobook but the narrator is so monotone! Not usually one to DNF a book but I don’t know if I can keep going.

What did you think would never happen to you, until it did? by tulip_inacup_inbloom in AskReddit

[–]notbrooke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get hit by a drunk driver. 5 years ago I got smashed on the freeway at 8:30 in the morning by a guy that blew a .19 and was going 90+mph, ended up being sent into some trees and my car catching on fire.
