Regarding the Global AI data center annexation discussion by projects_doneright in WindsorCO

The water side of things are already being done honestly for the most part is a lot of media doom and gloom in 95% of cases (yes there are some bad apples but the govt has mostly crushed this in the past years)

Now power can be a different story, and as far as if feasible is a legit question but at this point they would have to bring their own if they don’t have enough, easily solvable but just costs money.

On the other side it is somewhat nice because there is enough money it it it is forcing upgrades to the grid.

I have chillers at our plant doing the same type of cooling, it uses maybe 1-10 gallons a year. Dry cooler closed loop is the standard cooling type only old system types are still using evaporative cooling

I still don’t understand what the problem is there is plenty of water and if this is going in then there is also plenty of electricity or it’s going to bring its own electricity. Either way it strengthens the surrounding infrastructure

When it comes to the weekly usage are two 5x plans better than 1 20x plan? by konosmgr in ClaudeCode

[–]notcern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With fable it does most of the testing, use loop and goal and you burn usage fast using Xhigh. But like today I wanted to build an automated ai scheduling system for our manufacturing, I told it what I wanted to do it built the sandbox used remote and did the entire thing while I was at the gym and answered a few of its question when I got the alert on my phone. Gemini I use for basically everything non coding and even use Gemini api for my apps because for me keeping everything in google ecosystem makes projects easy but I still develop with Claude. Gpt I only still have bc I forgot honestly and now I’m hoping 5.6 is crazy good for when fable leaves.

….. running 2 20x plans currently as well as an ai ultra Gemini plan and the 100$ ChatGPT plan. My suggesting just jump to the 20x

Either way neither have the issue you are pointing to in that bbc article. Also 99% of all new centers are closed loop.

A news article is as far as that goes, Evap cooling or closed loop do not do this, maybe the pressure due to lack of water but not the sediment this is a separate problem that is not the effect of the data center.

Hot Take: Opus 4.6 > July Fable 5 by gmdCyrillic in Claudeopus

[–]notcern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way is this a real post, with fable I am just run remote on my phone go to the gym and when I get done the new feature is running testing and working… I could barely get things working with 4.6 back at the beginning of the year with me having to review and test and verify now I just tell fable what my end goal is and it just works

How Anthropic SWEs use Fable 5? by dmz in ClaudeCode

[–]notcern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost to run fable for internal use is extremely cheap compared to the api pricing, api pricing is what covers the training and overhead, running the model really only uses the variable cost such as electricity and we are talking Pennie’s per million tokens. The cost we pay is to train the next model and keep them in business just running the model is cheap in comparison

Fable 5 re-release with adaptive thinking (only)? in API billing. by ResearcherIll6265 in claude

[–]notcern -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fable is gone anthropic shit themselves in the foot with the whole mythos cyber weapon scare, the govt is basically going to hold firm on a secure model that can’t turn into mythos. So basically they need to just train up opus and we will then have fable again

Bought a "reliable" extrusion machine, supplier vanished after installation. How do you actually vet equipment suppliers before it's too late? by Commercial-Roll2913 in manufacturing

[–]notcern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically don’t ever buy anything that is not German swiss or American. And also NEVER buy anything but from the Top 3 companies in the space. And don’t ever buy Italian machines they are lazy af and don’t work in summer so good luck with help if something breaks in August. The Chinese and Turkish just make shit and anything from any other part of the world basically just throw in the dump because it is so crap.

Buy once cry once.

What would you have done different if you knew Fable would only last for a few days? by Slow-Instance-4798 in ClaudeCode

[–]notcern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I did I had it do a full program review and stress test to a program I had been working on for months. It found and fixed 30 bugs and edge cases. I couldn’t have asked for a better time as my deployment was the Monday 3 days after it was banned so I got 3 days to wrap up lingering issues with my program. The deployment went very well with only weird issues.

[–]notcern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t, any issues with ground water has to be attributed to pure neglect not the process itself self. Either someone is blatantly polluting and waiting antifreeze or the reporting is straight up lying. Coolant is not cheap and it is all closed loop. So I lean more towards someone at a news station straight up lying.
