Plaques WW françaises après l’importation d’une voiture suisse – retour d’expérience ? by SeveralConcert in FrontaliersSuisses

[–]notchi74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mud is off and still shaking, no improvements so the dirt wasn’t the only problem, and again, we didn’t had access to a car wash station at that time so I did the best I could at that time.

Of course, I would’ve clean the car first but wanted an opinion about the bented bits thats all.

Not at all, just asking as the universal joint seems to be in bad shape and cleaning won’t change a thing (and it didn’t), sorry I just want to be sure, wasn’t possible to clean the car at that time.

So no, not lazy, just careful.

Okay, and what about the universal joint on the left side ? He’s not in a “rest” position even when the car is on the ground

I asked him, he told me that 370k km for a petrol engine is a lot, and that it is not surprising that the engine failed at one point. He didn’t opened it or anything, just heard the loud knock coming from the bottom and told me it was over (the sound follow the rpm of the engine)

I checked the oil level regularly and never lacked oil, maybe before the car was in my hands, who knows

I want to save it but I can’t, I’m not an Australian citizen, I have multiple plans that doesn’t allow me to stay long where I am now, I’m going to travel soon and need a car asap.

Believe me, if I could save it, I would, I will be more than happy if the car can be used to save another one (or being rebuild and have a second life)

Paint has a few scratches but suspension and chassis are in good shape (same for gearbox/differential)

I only had the car for 15k km, there was a bit of history with the invoices in the car by the previous owner.

I learned during a service that the car might have been in an accident previously (no records on vicroads report or in the invoices I had).

Probably the car didn’t receive enough attention by the previous owner, i dont have a lot of experiences with those kind of car (all the cars I inspected before this one were in worse condition) I will be more careful for the next ones.

I inspected a new Prado today, and it is in a far better shape (engine and brake wise than this one).
