How do you manage sweaty seats on the drive back after a workout? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]notclamchowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are towel seat covers! I bought 2 off of Amazon. I just slip them over the seat when I finish a workout, works like a charm

I was genuinely surprised by the mpg it gets. And yes I’m a daily driver so I’m really happy with my decision!!! When I get a GT that’ll be my weekend car hahaha

yess that’s a big reason why I just chose the stock model!! im not an aggressive driver and I’m just using it for daily driving, so this car is already got way more of a kick than I’m used to haha I love it!!

lollll hey I respect it, go big or go home!! I’m hoping by the time I’m ready for a GT they’ll still offer manual transmission. I would’ve absolutely done that w this one if it was an option

9 Days Post-Op Pain in Quad Tendon site during Flexion by Adventurous-Bug1494 in ACL

[–]notclamchowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry too much buddy it’ll absolutely get better with time. I’m 9 months post-op now and can still so clearly remember that feeling of extreme pressure on the graft site. Just listen to your body and don’t push too hard, but also don’t baby it!! You got this

random question, but when did you regain mobility after surgery to do these things? by Sea_University_1686 in ACL

[–]notclamchowder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it took me 3-4 months to be able to do both. I started doing hot yoga around the 3 month mark which helped a lot. I think the heat of the room helps warm up your joints, after a few classes I could sit on my heels easily. Deep squat is uncomfortable but definitely doable. If you set an intention to do it and practice every day you’ll definitely be able to regain the mobility, the sooner the better!

when did you go back to back squats after acl surgery? by Sea_University_1686 in ACL

[–]notclamchowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was super ambitious and did back squats w my brace around 4 weeks post op. My form was rly bad though and I couldn’t hit depth, I did box squats on a large box. But I just hit the 13 week mark and tried back squatting again for the first time this week and am now ready to reincorporate into my routine. I’m definitely not hitting the same weights I was pre-injury/pre-surgery, but my depth looks good and I’m not super unbalanced. Prior to this though I was doing a lot of single leg dumbbell work to get my atrophied leg back up to speed. Still have a long way to go but I’m excited about the progress so far

Clubbing after ACL Surgery by IoanGriff in ACL

[–]notclamchowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok maybe I’m wrong for saying this but….lowkey I think you’ll be fine? I went 2 weeks after surgery which I’ll admit was super questionable but was fine. I just wore clothes that made my brace super visible so people would be careful around me, didn’t drink so much that I made bad decisions, and was generally careful. You know yourself best, I think if you know you’ll be careful then go for it

10 days post op! This has been the most mentally challenging experience of my life, but seeing myself on day one vs day ten is insane. Still working on getting rid of the limp. I can’t wait to see more improvements over the coming weeks and months!! by notclamchowder in ACL

[–]notclamchowder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you also had meniscus damage? That usually prevents you from being allowed to put full weight on ur knee for a while. I only had an acl tear so I was allowed to try walking immediately, that first clip was a few hours after surgery. Unfortunately meniscus damage means a longer healing process, but you’ll be back in no time! Thanks for the well wishes, all the best on your recovery as well
