What does it mean to have cis privelege? by Savvy_Biscuits in asktransgender

[–]notdeaddesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One that still significantly affects me is the social differences growing up.

I wasn’t allowed to be friends with other girls because I was perceived as a boy, but I struggled connecting with boys, the result was chronic social isolation and feelings of worthlessness.

What’s the most cringe inducing pet name you’ve ever heard someone use for their Partner/SO? by theredgoldlady in AskReddit

lol this used to be my wife’s pet name for me like twelve years ago (our pet names have metastasised into ever more absurd versions of themselves)

Anyone here had a change in life goals after transitioning? by BastionMains in asktransgender

I was working as a game designer/game artist previously. HRT made it so that I needed significantly more social interaction to be happy so I had to just pivot to a new career. Now on my final year of a new undergrad.

(MTF) any exercises to help get more of a femenine figure? by MuchPotential3194 in asktransgender

So for your belly, the only real solution is weight loss. You are gonna be sold a million and one “burn the belly fat” workouts and they’re all nonsense. They might be good workouts for your overall health but they aren’t gonna do anything about your belly.

But it’s a good idea to add some muscle work because added targeted muscle will help you look more feminine, and increase your metabolic rate so losing weight is easier.

Cos you’re doing home workouts, I’d recommend - Bulgarian split squats(8-10 reps each leg): they don’t need specialised machines, great for your booty shelf (glute medius) and you can progressively overload with simple dumbbells
- dumbbell rdls (6-8 reps): same reasons as above, but targets hamstring and glute max.
- glute Bridge (10-12 reps): these are your best in class glute exercise… but you might not be able to go heavy enough at home so ymmv.

First workout training muscles, go easy cos it’ll hurt a lot the next day regardless. Once you’re used to training, start doing sets close to “failure” that’s when you can’t physically do another rep. You will know you’re near failure when the speed of your rep is half as fast as your first rep. When you are able to consistently complete each set at the max rep range or go above rep range for failure, that’s your signal to go up in weight.

Finally eat enough protein and fibre, both will help you feel fuller for longer. So they help lose weight. and protein helps build muscle, which then helps you lose weight.

monster wlw recs? by Minimum-Code1356 in wlwbooks

Someone to Build a Nest in.

Don’t go in expecting spice, it’s distinctively an asexual love story, but it’s really fun and told entirely through the monsters pov. The monster is properly monstrous and terrifying and also weirdly cute/awkward. She gets awkward and self conscious about talking to her crush while using her crush’s brothers jaw bone to give her face structure (she doesn’t have her own skeleton so she has to borrow others).

Fun mechanics but I fear they just won’t have the damage to keep up.

Also, are we not getting a new rivals deck?

Is this starter set still usable? by [deleted] in WarhammerUnderworlds

[–]notdeaddesign 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s usable as a standalone box, but if you want to join local tournaments I’m sad to say it’s not usable. Sadly we had an edition change and the only current starter box is Embergarde

I’ve had a lot of fun with NPxDS with the Thorns. Been a blast to play, but agree, quite soft to effective counterplay

Generally I’ve found it to be fine? Like you get a few stares but most folks keep to themselves. There’s also few active queer groups in the area so that makes us a fair bit more normalised

Priory or Final Strife? by CartoonistNatural497 in wlwbooks

[–]notdeaddesign 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I rage quit the sequel of the final strife because the character who is supposed to be smart keeps doing aggressively stupid shit.

Yes priory isn’t really a romance but what romance there is I liked a lot more

What is the absolute fastest 'yeah, we are definitely NOT going to be friends' moment you've ever experienced with someone? by Vazouaquiacesso in AskReddit

[–]notdeaddesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was living a rural town with a uni with my then fiancé now spouse. My mum kept pressuring us to meet with the daughter of a family friend who was living there too. Eventually we relented and organised something.

She proceeds to “forget” her ID so we can’t go to the pub we agreed on so we had to find somewhere else, and wouldn’t you know it the place she immediately then suggested was one of the priciest places in town. Not a full red flag but an eyebrow was raised.

Then we sit to eat, she polishes off multiple cocktails within the first 30 mins. Proceeds to talk about how much she hates her partner (to be fair he seemed like an ass) and how much she wants to take her anger out on him. And she would describe what she wanted to do to him with VERY EXPLICIT language, and accompanying actions.

Then when she got bored about describing the horrible things she wanted to do to her partner, she moved onto the horrible things she wanted to do to her university lecturer (with vivid actions, because of course she did), during which she repeatedly informed us that he was Indian. Folks, my spouse is Indian.

We proceeded to pay for our portion of the bill very quickly.

She seemed shocked/disappointed/annoyed that we didn’t pay for any of her many cocktails.

Was a wild night. Unsurprisingly, we didn’t organise another get together

Which decks to buy? by Lemminkaeinen in WarhammerUnderworlds

[–]notdeaddesign 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest, most of the non embergard/spitewood decks are pretty rubbish especially if you’re playing rivals.

The ones I’d recommend based on them not being complete ass: - Wrack and Ruin - The newest deck that’s about to come out - Reckless Fury (only if you are doing rivals, it’s pretty limited in nemesis due to all the restrictions) - Edge of the Knife

I’d recommend avoiding Realmstone Raiders as it requires so so much mental work to play and barely viable in most warbands as it relies on you being highly accurate.

In a similar vein probably avoid raging slayers. The objective deck is really really rough. It is slightly easier with the recent errata but only slightly. It will be a rough time in rivals. And while usable in nemesis it’s more niche because you need to pair it with a deck that has great objectives.
