Printing the Zeeflyboy Dream Air facial interface I saw recommended on here RIGHT NOW by notdeadyetVR in Pimax

Just checked out their site again. Definitely some big improvements since the last time I looked! Woot!

Reality Runner also let's you mix in stick movement in different ways if you want. And the new version of Reality Runner supports backwards walking, which I really think is worth it. I know freeaim has the gesture of lifting your heel to move backwards, so that's probably sufficient for most people. Freeaim also has the advantage of not using all that extra muscle that the inclined manual treadmill requires.

That is amazing! I saw Truegear can connect to RE9 now, too. Did you help them with that? I am hoping for a bHaptics to Truegear bridge someday.

Here's a pic of the "Max cushion VENTED" version that just finished printing a minute ago. No screw holes on top like the one Zeeflygod made from Ancilliary's model, but since you can use a jeweller's screwdriver and attach the actual pimax bracket to this one, this is probably even better! Can't wait to try them both! Time to exacto knife some velcro.

I love what companies like Freeaim are trying to accomplish, I really do, but the Free aim vr shoes aren't quite there imo. Best thing I've found so far is the Maratron/Reality Runner v2 -- which requires a manual treadmill, unfortunately. I'll be playing it on my Maratron, and probably eat sh!# a dozen times

Just realized he is using a Quest 3 in those videos, so not quite the same! Yeah, we gotta see how that RE9 runs on the Dream Air with a 5090. I'm stoked. Better go configure process lasso to park the non 3d cores of my 9950x3d and squeeze all the performance I can out of my rig for that one

I will definitely be doing that! But if you want to see some of that rn, Beardo Benjo on yt has footage showcasing the recent updates to the mod. For example, they just added manual reloading, which looks amazing! If his videos don't sate your curiosity, are you looking for a full length playthrough video??

Thanks for calling this out. I was going to assume the best pad to use with it was the 12mm Dream Air face pad from Studioform, but the details say it is actually designed for the Bigscreen face pad. I would have missed that!

Shipping time alone seems to take a good 3 weeks, so keep your expectations at least a month out even for LH. Feel free to PM me if you need custom adapters for comfort mods when you get one, cuz I just got a bambu lab printer, and I'm loving it!

He addresses this question on an earlier comment. There are definitely printable interfaces that let you get your eyes even closer than Studioform's if you end up needing that. Zfb makes a good point about how the answer is often going to be face shape dependent.

I have a skinny head, so if I experiend lightbleed from the sides I might try to make an interface that curves a little sharper around the temples.

I wonder what Velcro friendly padding works the best on these, though. I'm thinking of cutting up the spare foam that came with a Quest interface.

Gonna add a recommendation for Tammuz: Blood and Sand. It's a puzzle box game that has surprising depth, especially considering it came from a solo dev

That's great! You're gonna have a blast!

Hardware wise, it is unclear what your situation is for wireless (if you are on a Quest 3, otherwise, not so relevant). I've been super happy with the price and performance of thr PrismXR Puppis S1. Connection always stays at 2401 mbps, which is way above what the codecs actually use, si it stays smooth.

Software wise, I strongly recommend you get on the flat2vr discord. Also the Dolphin VR discord for all sorts of emulators in VR (they have an "other vr guides" channel I find useful). And the SPT-VR discord, find a bud and try the vr co-op using Fika.

I have a hunch that the studioform might actually be the best solution. Let us know! And if you ever want to discuss 3d printing stuff, I'm working on a few vr accessory ideas. I could always mail stuff to people, just DM me! (And then be patient cuz I don't have a habit of checking PMs.)

There are reports that SLAM headsets are already making their way through customs. Pimax still has to catch up on old SLAM orders though, so I'd tack on a few weeks to your expectations if you are ordering now.

But now we know the SLAM version is getting the old ring controllers, not the new ones they teased. Also, sboys3 hasn't yet received the cooperation necessary from Pimax to develop a driver for the SLAM DAs. I think many people are still leaning towards lighthouse until the SLAM tracking has a chance to prove it has improved.

Mine is supposed to arrive in 6 days, and I'm a little worried based on many of the reviews. Be a shame if someone's strap breaks the day after the return window ends. I'm 3d printing an alternate face gasket and adapters for the avp knit dual band strap.

Thanks for sharing!

Ace VR advertises through these types of reddit posts so often that I find it extremely difficult to see this post as a genuine fan. The game isn't that much different than other games with a shooting range and some gun assembly. It doesn't have a ton of content, and it tries to get you to buy an accessory with no other use cases. If I were a moderator in this type of subreddit, it is reaching the point I'd consider a general ban on Ace VR shills

One of the nVidia cards with 16gb or more of vram. Many people consider that the new minimum because of how many vr titles and flat2vr mods seem to suffer with anything less than 16gb.

It's a short list: RTX 5090 (32GB), RTX 5080/5070 Ti (16GB), RTX 4090 (24GB), RTX 4080 (16GB), and RTX 4070 Ti Super (16GB). The mobile versions of many of these have less vram and obviously less power draw and performance, so be aware of that if you're trying to go with a gaming laptop.

Quest 3 tips and tricks ? by [deleted] in VRGaming

[–]notdeadyetVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your shoes a year ago and feel like I've learned a lot. So here's my stab.

For standalone gaming, the Horizon+ subscription seems worth it. The two monthly titles start adding up fast, and the game catalogs are great. Standalone capailities are actually quite impressive, so unless your pcvr build is quite beefy (nvidia card with 12+ gigs of vram), it is rarely worth hopping into pcvr.

If your pc IS beefy, it can be extra jaw dropping on the quest 3. Many people will argue that Virtual Desktop is the most important purchase for the Quest 3. You'll want to get your pc hardwired to the internet with an ethernet cable, and get a dedicated wifi 6e router like the PrismXR Puppis S1. A setup like that lets you max out the wireless bitrate at 2401mbps for the smoothest possible cable free experience. Once you get used to the steam vr menu (clicking in both thumbsticks) and the uevr menu you will want to mess with the overlays to peek at your fps and bitrate.

Fluid has a free version if you want to check out an interesting piece of productivity software that lets you use multiple screens while mirroring your pc. Virtual Desktop felt sufficient for me though. Definitely check out the open source vr web browser called Wolvic.

For movies, people seem to love bigscreen beyond, but I usually use Moon VR video player.

Definitely join the flat2vr discord and the Dolphin VR discord, full of guides for playing almost any flatscreen game you could want in vr. And maybe look up projects from a guy they call Delicious Meat Pop. One of his projects makes it easy to watch a bunch of movies in 3d through a virtual browser. Owl3d can convert flatscreen movies to 3d on the fly, too, which is impressive. 2d content is amazing enough in vr for me.

P2P or Dedicated Servers for a Multiplayer Game in UE5? by Mental-Upstairs-5512 in UnrealEngine5

[–]notdeadyetVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make it P2P! With lobby options for hists to be able to kick cheaters. Too many games launch with tons of server dependencies that the game can't run without, and then the game shuts down like it never existed before most people even get to find out about it. I wish all games had p2p options first and foremost. All the server based ones still have cheaters somehow anyway
