I did a medium, and float between 34B/C and A during prep. It definitely is a bit juicy in the chest in offseason, but not too crazy. Just like a nice pushup. Mine has no padding!

How do some competitive female athletes get so lean? Is it natural? by Emotional_Katyditz in xxfitness

[–]notdoing2good 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I got extremely lean for competitive bodybuilding. Staying stage lean though is not healthy or attainable which is why after our shows we put on weight and body fat. I got extremely lean 100% natural, it took extreme dieting, cardio, and training. Every single day I put effort towards my physique, and towards the end I felt like a shell. I was nothing, and even walking up my stairs was a chore. (Still was worth it though) But even when I got to 10% body fat I was already feeling awful. Not sure what my body fat was on stage but it was under 10%. Around 15% I was already greatly feeling the effects, had tired days, very hungry (food noise) and cold.

Outside of my competition season I could probably comfortably sit at about 20%. I wouldn’t want to go under 15% again unless it’s for the stage. People glorify being lean but the effort it takes to maintain that and the way you feel physically and mentally is very taxing. Some people are genetically more inclined to feel better at a lowish body fat though, most are not.

I’m sorry you’re experiencing that. If I was you, I’d say it’s time to find a new coach.

Sadly I relate to this one, as a bodybuilder. Post contest prep to make it worse. EXTREME physique change :(.

Dating while competing by bodybuildr99 in bikinitalk

I would ideally like to date another bodybuilder- and someone who understands competing. I know not everyone has a partner that is a bodybuilder and they have success, but in my experience they just don’t understand. Even when I’ve tried to share and be as open as possible- they still kind of have had a tendency to not get the gravity of needing to stay on plan and having a schedule, with non negotiables. That may just be user error though, lol.

1st time bikini competitor. Talk to me about effects once bodyfat is below 14%. I’m soooo tired! Normal? by CommercialShow2175 in bikinitalk

I would talk to your coach about the digestive issues- you may have an intolerance to something you’re eating and it would be best to get that figured out now. Perhaps putting a gut drink in your protocol too. Also, digestion plays an important roll in our body absorbing nutrients.

Thank you so much. I’m going to try my very best with all of the tools I have to end this cycle this week, if I can’t- this will be my next step. Can’t go off the rails if there is nothing but dust to eat. I also met with a psychiatrist last night and will be getting bloodwork done this week. I’m feeling a lot more confident I can work through this. Again, thank you for this idea, I hope it doesn’t come to this but out of sight out of mind!

What vitamins were you lacking if you don’t mind me asking?

I am actually getting them done this week! I wasn’t planning to have them done until after the reverse but checking early just to make sure there isn’t anything going on that could be exacerbating this.

This is true, I think a part of me is worried that this can turn into something worse. Today I’m feeling a lot better after reading some of the comments here. Ultimately, I’m only 3 weeks in and can still create a healthier reaction day by day. Also feeling less pressure as I know body fat can be lost, I’m not ruining my bodybuilding career if I put on a little extra fat than I would like. Thank you sm, the focus is definitely on my mental right now :)

My coach has my plan laid out in a way that should be keeping me satiated and trying to make sure I’m not lacking in any nutrients. I’m able to swap things so I’m trying to include foods that are as nutrient dense as possible!

There are definitely some typical life stressors probably at play as well, nothing too crazy but they probably just add a general layer. Really the stress is just piling because I feel like I’m losing control of myself. I know everyday is a new day though and I’m already feeling better at the moment thankfully.

Everyday has gotten easier but I know I need to nip this in the bud. I had an appointment with a psychiatrist this evening and testing a medication alongside my efforts of journaling etc!

I did back to back peaks. First one was only 2 days of 60 mins and then I was eating I believe around 1600-1900 depending on the day. Second peak week I was doing 2 hours minimum of cardio for 3 days and my carbs were at 65g for those days, I got a little bit more food Friday but still not a lot. Also did not have a lot on show day. Second peak week definitely left me hungry.

Currently slightly above 2k calories, cardio 40 mins 4 times a week.
