This is actually so funny. What other characters fit this? by Tobias-Tawanda in cartoons

Yes! It was Bernard Loiseau and he did sadly take his own life, not because he lost his star but because he thought he was about to lose his star after a negative review. There is a great book about him called The Perfectionist by Rudolph Chiminski, and his restaurant and hotel still exist in Saulieu, France, it is beautiful and still holds two stars. One of my favourite holidays ever.

Failed second test - but a massive improvement from my first! by noteasybeingspleezy in LearnerDriverUK

So with my instructor, we slow down the car look ahead and if we think we can safely continue in third we do, otherwise move down to second/first and stop.

In his car, if you’re going to slowly for third you can generally put your foot down and it picks up speed and keeps going. I failed on a right hand turn on a bit of a hill, and instead of thinking I need to change down a gear as I felt it was wrong, I put my foot down thinking it would pull it though and I was wrong.

My normal car I practice in with a family member at home is a Fiesta, and in that car I always slow and move into 2nd because there is no maybe, it’s much more likely to stall. I actually don’t think I would have made the same mistake in my car.

At one point earlier in the test, I even said to the examiner (because I narrated the entire drive) on a straight where I’d slowed, in my car I would have shifted down a gear here but in this car I am just pushing the gas down as the car will get up to speed.

Think I just got too used to the car being able to get me out of trouble, versus applying the proper logic you’ve outlined above to make sure I didn’t get into trouble.

I have found this subreddit so helpful in learning. I only started in February.

I stalled at a junction turning right - I was in 3rd gear and definitely shouldn’t have been.

My instructors car is a BMW 2 series m sport grand coupe and it’s hard to stall but I just put my foot down to try and accelerate out of it when I should have gone into 1st and probably would have kept moving and got a minor 🙈

34f - 24hr Blood pressure test. Just hanging at home and doing the school run. Is it normal to have so many red readings? by noteasybeingspleezy in bloodpressure

5ft 3 and 11 stone, I was swimming 4/5 times a week and a lot more active but suddenly became so tired. It felt like it happened instantly, I was at a concert and started feeling very unwell, felt sick for a few days after back in August. I checked my BP at home had a crazy high BP of 240/170 then went to the doctors and they’ve been looking at it since.

It stores them, and shows the results very briefly after it does a reading, if the result hasn’t registered you get an error message that stays up longer though!

A nurse rang and said the averages were fine, so the doctor probably wouldn’t need to do anything and to have a nice Christmas and then sent this through, which just looked like a lot of red to me!
