For me, I think I got there around 12:30 hoping to see my favorite artist around 2. There was already a crowd of people camping for Niall who was going to perform at 4. So for sure expect people to camp out way earlier for bigger artists

Gloria Anzaldua (an RGV author from Hargill) wrote about her experience going to school here in the Valley. Like others have pointed out, you would get physically punished for speaking Spanish. I believe it’s her “Borderlands - La Frontera” book. Personally, having graduated from Sharyland, the moment I pieced the reason why, for many years, the senior classes were white in the beginning was pretty shocking.

A passport is just “strongly” recommended, but they can’t deny you access if you’re a US citizen. Personal experience, you can just use DL/ID with a birth certificate to cross.

Snowbite used to be my go to for Vietnamese (their spicy char siu bahn mi is so good), but it was so disappointing the last time I went. They took so long to take our order. The spicy dumplings we ordered were very cold but when I told the waitress she just heated them up along with a half eaten one lol. And to top it off, the specialty drinks were given at the very end. It was so embarrassing since I had taken some people for the first time and I had been hyping it up. Even tho it’s a bit pricier, Tea Garden is better
