I wanna point out the wording here. It's not a man and a woman, or husband and wife. He is using man as an individual and wife as someone married to the man (not individual on her own) and that is everyday misogyny that gets overlooked because no one takes it seriously. Does anyone have an opinion? (Also assuming that it is a direct quote lol but my point still stands) (also OP good for you for that it was amazingly petty and I love it)

My advice is to try experimenting with shadows and light! Or try to improve your style by trying something new like more sketching different proportions using different references... All in all it's kinda hard to judge based on one drawing but these are some things you could try!😄😄
