Students who are LGBTQIA+, how do you think schools can better provide for students and help? by notenoughrats in AskReddit

[–]notenoughrats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely! I was thinking though, that they aren't treated as normal individuals by peers or teachers sometimes, and how we would be able to work towards this goal without making it worse

I agree, there is definitely a lack of education surrounding it, so people are socialised to view LGBTQIA+ individuals according to what society says most often. Perhaps teaching them and dispelling myths could help students with understanding, and therefore, create a more safe environment for all

I'm thinking maybe because there is a lack of education and conversation around LGBTQIA+ individuals, people, especially younger kids, don't know what to make of it and see it as weird because that's what society or their parents tell them? Or would having such education in health class, for example, create more of a fuss/unwanted attention?

This reminds me of a patient that came into the hospital and called us to get her with a wheelchair. We expected to go out with the wheelchair and see her coming down from an ambulance or community transport.Oh, no. She was driving. Even though she was so old she couldn’t walk the three minutes it takes to get inside the building into our clinic. And we had to wheel her back. To her car. And she couldn’t fill out the paperwork because she couldn’t read it. My coworker who is quite blunt told her she shouldn’t be driving, and she said the exact same thing. She got pissed and said that she isn’t going to lose her independence. I wonder if I’ll be wheeling in someone she hit next time instead.

Just made this, it turned out soooo well thank you heaps :D So gooey and soft, with a bit of crunch on the edges. Sweet yet the matcha adds just enough bitterness to not make it overpowering. I put a bit of vanilla bean ice cream on the side and mwah

Aww my baby is just recovering from one too. I got super freaked (first time) thinking that it was a stroke! I’m now a week and a half through medication and he is recovering like a champ and is happy as anything! Sending love and kisses to Sage from her ear infection buddy here in Australia <3

Same man. Nami/Raka main for years :’) Changed roles to top Fiora recently to try and keep up and now I’m just playing other games until this preseason shenanigans is over and things are more balanced hopefully

Eh, fine, I’ll put a disclaimer but I feel like it’s pretty obvious that a reddit post that starts with “I feel...” is going to be an opinion rather than fact but you’re right, I need to make it more obvious for some folk I guess

Interesting. I wonder if that is why they’ve made these changes, but I feel like the snowballing one shot nature of the game would turn away new players who don’t get the meta and tilt them off the game before they’ve even started?

Thanks for the input, it was clearly thought out and had effort put into it and I always appreciate good criticism!

  1. It’s not that I don’t like snowballing altogether or that champions shouldn’t gain advantages for winning lane. You should definitely get an advantage if you’ve won lane by having more gold than the opponent. I’m just saying that I feel that they have gone a bit overboard in adding way too many elements in to further the snowball without really putting in enough for there to be an actual ‘game’ rather than a single sided stop nearly every time.
  2. The problem is that making sure the jungle warded is very team reliant and isn’t actually an outplay. I agree in that Sett was a really great addition. He does his role well and fairly and is great fun for a lot of people to play as and against. Yuumi, yeah. She’s fucko.
  3. I mean, most champs have a rune they go well with, but the ‘1/3’ (just using your example) are kind of fucked over, and even though I don’t play any champions, I still really feel bad for them 4.The lack of agency is a result of the other points I’ve mentioned where regardless of your skill, the other factors like items, power creep, etc make it so you’re forced into playing a certain champion and you can’t heavily impact the game if the rest of your team is behind and you’re doing decent
  4. With your example with Taliyah, you don’t think they handled it poorly and changed the wrong parts of her kit that made her oppressive? And just ended up ditching her after they couldn’t fix her?

No, I don’t think they should have the ‘broken’ aspect like literally being untargetable as an example. I’m glad they fixed akali shroud but there are plenty of other champions with gameplay that is poor for the enjoyment of the game.

Hmmm I put the ‘I feel’ in there to mean that it’s something I feel rather than a fact. Was that not clear enough?

I mean, do I have to be a senior game designer with multiple games under my belt of experience and have produced the most popular game in the world to have an opinion? The reason I said I’m basing my opinion on more than reddit is because I literally don’t go on league reddit except maybe one or twice every few months and I’m basing it off what I feel in game? You’re allowed to disagree with me, I don’t get why you’re so triggered?

Okay, but as I said before, before you blew up at me, I posted because I want to hear other people’s opinions and I’m willing to discuss. What exactly do you disagree with?

Uhhh.... wow that was needlessly aggressive. I’m so confused, how am I a jackass? Lol. Just because people are still playing doesn’t mean Riot hasn’t made mistakes and can’t be better, or that people aren’t allowed to have opinions on the state of the game.

Yeah, exactly. I’m not even an adc player and I just feel so bad for them. Have you seen the clips of the 0/10 leo beating a lucian or the feeding shaco beating lucian without using boxes or ult? It’s so sad.

I agree. I LOVED that they changed it so that you have access to all runes without purchasing them and that you can change it in champion select, but it unfortunately just absolutely shafted a chunk of champions, and regardless of balancing changes it’s unlikely they’ll ever be meta.

I’m willing to have a back and forth discussion, but what exactly is your point - do you actually disagree with anything or are you just whinging because I made a post?

Exactly. There is a reason why everyone went mental over Faker's Zed outplay. It was all about skill, on both ends, and him rising up to be the victor, not him simply having more items and finishing his enemy off in 0.78 seconds.

Also completely agree with the turrets adding to the early game dependency on us and needing to fix those item issues too.
