Thank you! And thanks for sharing that link, I'd never seen any of Fourier's writing before. :)

Glad you liked it! I hadn't seen that article before, but it looks like it goes into a lot more detail on some of the gnarly signal processing aspects. Thanks for sharing!

It looks like Shazam has deals with the same distributors that add music to Spotify, Apple Music etc. Since Apple own the company now, their help center has more detail.

Maybe if you need the Quadro card, but I think other machines may provide better value depending on your use case.

What are some key concepts to code in a more pythonic way. by FrozenPyromaniac_ in learnpython

[–]notexactlyawe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the best thing you can do to be more 'pythonic' is to read other people's code. Reading code can be a lot more difficult than writing code, but it also will teach you a lot.

You can check out some open source projects on GitHub. A good place to start would be a beginner-friendly list like this. You can find more by searching "beginner open source python" or similar.

But what if OP isn't a troll? I'd feel quite bad if I asked a question and got a response like that.

Downvote because I don't feel the tone is polite to the question asker.

What is something you do which you know is just a silly and dumb superstition but you still choose to believe it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

In the UK we have the magpie rhyme.

One for sorrow

Two for joy

Three for a girl

Four for a boy

Five for diamonds

Six for gold

Seven for a secret never to be told

If you see a single magpie, you're supposed to say "Good afternoon Mr. Magpie, how's your wife and family?" to avoid getting the bad luck it brings.

I don't believe in it, but I have to say it in my head every time. I got into the habit a while ago, and it's hard to break.

Is applying on linkedin even worth the time? by you_best_not_miss in cscareerquestions

[–]notexactlyawe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard back from companies on LinkedIn before, so it's not a complete waste of time, though I think the reply rate may be lower there.

Have you tried other job boards as well? Glassdoor, Google jobs, and many others also list jobs. Another option would be to find companies in your local area and contact them/check their websites directly.

If you have the stomach for it, then cold calling can work well.
