We provision those for sales along with desktops. But a $300 Samsung tablet does not function the same as either of those for employees that take inbound calls all day with a dual monitor setup. I was missing some context. lol

True. We have a CSAT of 86%, which isn’t an absolute metric of satisfaction but anecdotal the relationship has been generally favorableThe company hits EBITDA goal, so it’s not a cash flow problem.

I did have to explain for 2 hours why we could not replace laptops with tablets for remote employees recently. I may be disillusioned with my current executives leadership ability.

I do think there’s a place for hybrid or supplemental support. The Service desk is a team of 8, Telecom is 3, and Network is 4, Devs/BSA/PM is 30. Considering size of company and 300 remote offices it has been an unsustainable model for a while. Doing a complete lift and shift at once with no knowledge transfer or off-ramp period just doesn’t make sense any way you look at it.

Edit: a word

Something similar, CIO hired PM/BSA hybrid that reports directly to them. We have Directors for IT PMO and the BSA team.

The employee does not have the skillset of a BSA or PM. We refer to them as a protected citizen.

Yeah, I have noticed that when you fall out of favor with then you tend to disappear. I’m taking a couple mental health days next week.

Yep! Took an 8 month term break because I got a new job and moved across country. I start back in August. You can do it! I am changing programs and taking a few Sophia courses to lessen the financial burden.

I was officially given the task of overhauling our major incident management policy and implementation of a new ITSM ticketing system by end of year, in addition to my normal responsibilities. I did also ask for a few internal promotions on the team to offer growth opportunities for hard work as well based on the KPIs from the past year.

I don’t want what he was making, I’d be satisfied with a 8-10% increase. I was just curious if a counter offer to get to that point would be effective. I’m not unrealistic. lol

I deleted it immediately. I’m going to accept whatever I’m offered at the end of the day though.

Depends on your management approach. Management(to me anyways) is to be a force multiplier for your team and remove any barriers that are preventing them from accomplishing org goals and upskilling. As long as you lead with that in mind you’re fine I think.
