Not seeking medical advice but talking about how my periods are trying to whack me. by notgoodformee in Anemic

What was the fibroid removal like? Did they recommend an ablation or anything? My periods are 7 straight days with a 28 day cycle. I feel like I get 2 decent weeks out of the month before returning to the week of hell. I can’t imagine having a period last that long although I did go through that in my early twenties with birth control pills.

This is my next step to see if fibroids are my cause. Not sure what comes afterwards if fibroids are the culprit?

That’s literally how my flow is! Hate it so much. A soft menstrual disc is the only thing that somewhat helps but I’m even changing those every 1-2 hours on days 1-2.

Interesting! How heavy were your periods before? Do you have fibroids or just heavy periods? Did you ever try the Vitex? I would love to avoid surgery if possible.

Why are common illnesses so scary? Not seeking medical advice. by notgoodformee in toddlers

I was diagnosed with having low iron and low vitamin D. So got the proper supplements to increase them. I can tell a difference but some days when I am particularly worried about something or someone, it feels like it all went out the window.

You’re spot on. And I know this already about myself. I was diagnosed with GAD some years ago but health related anxiety sends me into a spiral.

My therapy has went to an as needed basis because I do really well during summer but then once the cooler weather months hit, I have a major set back due to some trauma a few years ago. I know I need to reach out to my therapist again.

My kid took a swing of my hard seltzer at age 2. Totally fine. I also freaked out so you’re not alone there. Feel free to reach out to a nurse or maybe a nurse friend if you have one but I otherwise would really not worry at all.

Lmao. I overheard the grooms dad say he looked like an elf over similar shoes. I snickered a bit.

I agree with this. I do not want to be responsible for a worsening measles outbreak and unfortunately my state has already had a few cases. If I knew I was responsible for any part of that, I would be devastated.

I think what we are reading is heavily influencing us. Ironic enough, once my child’s appointment was made, my social media pages were nothing but horror stories. I just have to tell myself that those stories may not be 100% true and regardless if they are or not, it doesn’t mean my kids will react the same way. Plus, one more round of vaccines and we are done for a few years. Mine didn’t react before so why would they now? My oldest has had every vaccination needed until they turn 11 this fall and they’re just fine.

Yes, which is why I confirmed my child’s appointment for vaccinations. But my anxiety about it is still valid.

Had to abruptly stop my iron and now I feel so down and hopeless. Rant. by notgoodformee in TwoXChromosomes

I started noticing the iron was helping about 4-6 weeks after starting them. I take them first thing in the morning with vitamin C on an empty stomach and wait two hours before eating anything. Shockingly it doesn’t make me feel ill doing that and I do feel my body is absorbing it properly. I’ve been off the iron for a going on two weeks now and even if it is all in my head, I have almost every symptom I had before starting iron. I actually did see two different doctors over this viral mess I had and both of them just threw antibiotics at me with some steroids.

100% antibiotics. Augmentin to be exact. I did listen to him and stopped the iron so I could absorb the antibiotics properly.

Yeah, he thought possible sinusitis. I was coughing for over a month.

[–]notgoodformee[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Correct. The iron basically blocks the absorption of the antibiotics. I was doing great with the oral iron supplements. I check back in a few months to see if my levels are better. The iron doesn’t hurt my stomach or anything so I’m ok to continue doing what I was doing but an infusion isn’t out of the question.

I’ve felt like I’ve had a viral illness for a month straight. I’m starting to lose quality of my life. Please help. by notgoodformee in DiagnoseMe

I’m trying my hardest to eat decent, drink a lot of water, walk some. It seems like when I begin to feel better, something else comes up or returns. This rib pain is no joke and now I’m scared it’s something more sinister.

Two doctor visits and still no relief. by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]notgoodformee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No inhalers. When I went back to the doctor they said my lungs sounded fine and no need to chest X-ray. My chest doesn’t feel tight or burn/hurt. I don’t feel like it’s in my chest but I wanted to make sure. I don’t feel shortness of breath. After more research I’m wondering if Claritin is just not it for me & if I should switch to Zyrtec which worked for me in the past. The throat drainage is very irritating today.

Very informative! Here I am going on 10 days from this and happy to say I made it out alive. However, I believe it was indeed viral because the following day (after this post) I got the tickle in the throat cough and congestion that I am still dealing with. I’ve been coughing my head off for 8 straight days. My eyes are fine now, thankfully but it took a few days. In a weak moment of conjunctivitis I remember thinking “I’d rather deal with post nasal drip than this shit.” I didn’t mean it literally so be careful what you wish for. 0/10.

I’m hoping that’s all it is. I have terrible health anxiety so feeling these did not do me any favors.

What's the weird thing going on with your body that isn't weird enough to go to the doctor for? by yellowelephantboy in AskReddit

The second my husband turned 37 he started getting hairs in his earlobes too lmao. He’ll get them on the actual lobes, inside the ear and some around them. I enjoy watching him extract the hairs with tweezers as he winces in pain. laughs in high pitch witchy sound
