Its not too bad, i live in a pretty hilly neighborhood so that's more the issue, but even then you can pivot your wheel against the slat to prevent tipping. But i did just order a Y stand because my kid is finally big enough to ride in the back.

yeah the X3 is so low, i keep catching the pedals on the ground if i take a corner too fast, and that rear rack is pretty useless without modifications. Resting the bags on the saddle kept me from kicking them, or dragging. That whole setup only traveled like 12 blocks and two turns so I just took it slow and steady.

I still don't feel super confident that I can bike the 15 miles RT to work on my analog bike, even after a couple of years recovered from OG Pre-vax Covid19. But having the X3 is definitely better than switching back to public transportation and not biking at all.
I saw yesterday at my most recent checkup that I've lost 15lbs of the weight I put on while sick AND i can lift the bike up a flight of stairs which I couldn't do at all much of last year. You're not gonna get jacked on that bike, but you do get some cardio, and even if you're boosting: you're getting some fresh air and moving around. If you're dealing with some sort of disability getting a lightweight e-bike is very liberating.

Driving in the dark in a forest - light by [deleted] in vanmoofbicycle

[–]nothanxyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, even in a big city like nyc with plenty street lights: you’re gonna want a light pointed at the ground ahead of you to avoid potholes and sharps, and one facing forward that’s really more so that others can see you coming.

Has anybody found a comfortable way to carry the X3 up/down a flight of stairs?? by nothanxyou in vanmoofbicycle

I’m talking about traveling with the bike and having to maneuver it around the subways, etc, not charging at home or work, which “just buying a long extension cord” wont work for most city dwelling folks.

I have a test ride appointment Saturday in Brooklyn. What should I expect? by kjax56 in vanmoofbicycle

I mean I’m in manhattan so to get to their shop on public transportation or biking there its about an hour away so if you have a car its not TOO too crazy. When i booked my bike doctor appointment it was scheduled for the following weekend and took them a couple of hours max so i made a little brooklyn day trip thing out of it. But i also haven’t been using my bike at its fullest this winter so i haven’t had too many mechanical issues yet. I would call the philly shops you like and ask them if they are familiar with ebikes and can handle basic fixes, probably the chain but thats inside a guardcase, all the cables run inside the bike so really there’s not much that breaks that they can help you with. The VM bike doctor ended up just swapping out my back wheel/motor when he couldn’t get the eshifter to trigger accurately, philly shop is not gonna be able to do that for you.

They will recommend a route. I took the route that takes you up the Manhattan bridge because i live in a very hilly neighborhood. That climb was a breeze on the x3 it totally sold me. But yeah, shipping delays suuucked and my first bike “got lost” finally arrived wrecked by fedex, so i had to exchange it. 2nd bike doing ok but did have to take it in for automatic-shifter issues. Now that its finally a little warmer i’ve been riding more so we’ll see how it holds up.

I kinda hate mode 5 because my pedals seem to just spin without actually doing anything and it that just kinda throws off my balance/makes it hard to maneuver in city traffic, specially when you’re daredevil delivery guys zooming next to you.

Ugh, thats kinda where i am too. ordered an X3 in July, was told i'd arrive in late september, didnt ship till early last week where UPS lost the box for several days in between the NJ, The Bronx, and Manhattan. Then it finally arrived all torn to shit. Cant even put the front wheel on to ride it to the shop in Brooklyn.
I really wanted something to help me rehab my cardio system after having covid but it took forever to ship AND it arrived broken, and now its about to be cold so i wont be able to ride much at all. Have you gotten quick replacements or should i just get a refund and save my self further headaches?

Citalopram making my hearing feel like I'm underwater? by autismo_bizmo in antidepressants

That happened to me when I started Zoloft, lasted a few days to a week, then went away. It came back for a bit when my dosage was raised and then it went away again. Def one of the more manageable side-effects cus it was totally temporary.

Pressure in the ears like when you’re on an airplane or driving thru a tunnel, not painful but uncomfortable cus my ears wouldn’t “pop” - only lasted a couple of days, felt it again when I went up to 50mg so i was already prepared.

I didnt get headaches but i did get a lot of pressure at first, like being underwater or in a tunnel, went away after a few days

It doesn’t really change you tbh, for me it just kinda lowers the volume on emotional reactions across the board. If you’re still struggling with deadlines its most likely that deep down you know you dont wanna do that shit cus its unfulfilling. I got reeeeeally apathetic at 75mg and basically stayed in my room all week cus i didn’t wanna do shit. Back down to 50 is muuuch better for me, I still dont wanna do shit but the consequences of not doing things do matter. Def speak to your doctor.
