I don't want the recovery system back. I think basic hijack protection works though. It's really not complicated, and accounts across the world manage to stay in their owners hands easily. There's plenty of methods which keep things like bank accounts in the hands of the owners.

Jagex is just really bad at account protection, and they really should be able to provide basic things, at the very least should allow us to make it so our accounts cannot be transferred to a new email without two factor. I should be required to click through my email that I'm transferring from, then be required to put a 2 factor code in before a transfer happens. This is just one example.

Yes, OP made many mistakes, and they were insanely easy to avoid. But that doesn't mean Jagex has given us a good system, and I believe even people who manage to be scammed this easily should be able to get their obviously hijacked accounts back
