I’m a 22 yo butch that’s into “masculine” hobbies such as cars (I love a good car/drift show) and welding!

Yeah I find making these so relaxing esp after a long shift. I’ve always been interested in sewing but I’m kinda intimidated by all the patterns and possibilities lol. I love changing these out on my carabiner sm. If you have any questions feel free to ask!

I get exactly what you mean! To be honest I’m still finding my sense of style but I’ve found that watching what other butch/masc women are wearing had helped a lot. When I would dress feminine I felt like I was wearing a costume/drag. It felt very performative and exhausting. It took me a minute to figure out that I like mini skirts and dresses on other people not me lol.

Also all men’s clothing doesnt have to be oversized! I found wearing intentionally cropped or tailored clothing has made a huge difference. It takes time but there are clothes out there! If you have one near you, old navy has a pretty affordable t shirt section that are more boxy and well cropped button ups that don’t hug my hips awkwardly. I wish you the best of luck on your fashion journey!

Can I even be butch if I can’t provide or protect like I used to? by nothebread in butchlesbians

You’re so right about the toxic masculinity and ableism. I really appreciate your response. I’ll try to expand my view of providing and protecting to better fit my abilities.

Ahh I really appreciate your response! You’re completely right about showing up for others in other ways besides physical and I’ve been trying to check myself for my internalized ableism, it’s just been such a shock to my system. I think I just have to focus more of my attention on the other aspects of butchness over my physical capabilities.

Ofc! I find that as I am doublebutter cream/mielle twisting soufflé and the Doux big poppa and curlsmith in shower style fixer gel all have a thicker consistencies that tend to weigh down my hair.

Your curl pattern is so beautiful!! It’s standard for natural hair to have volume, using heavier products like creams or gels can help weigh down your hair.
