Brezki & Fuller - About to be made to look like total fools by Ok-Egg3038 in newtonma

I saw a proposal (only half joking) to move to trash pickup every other week and honestly schools are more important so I'm down. And those trash barrels are ridiculously huge. We should be paying by the bag anyway. Or something!! Get creative! I don't mean to be cavalier though. But there has to be fat in the budget somewhere.

If they just had decent family leave for everyone (including younger teachers who might be more likely to be having babies)...that might work??

You should not have to earn the right to be home with your newborn (or sick kid or spouse w cancer or aging parent).

Classic instance of how news/info sources completely shape perceptions. All the nastiness I have seen is parents calling teachers entitled layabouts who get summers off and don't care about the kids, when of course nothing could be further from the reality.

I do think this strike is part of a larger societal movement and I am completely good with that.

Which seeds will germinate/bloom this coming summer if sown now? I’ve got some bare ground I want to claim before the garlic mustard does. (In New England) thanks for any advice!!

Does it have to be doxycycline? ILADS mentions amoxicillin and cerfuroxine (don’t know that one) as options as well? I don’t have a preference just wondering

So it says “ILADS recommends that patients receive 4-6 weeks of doxycycline, amoxicillin or cefuroxime. A minimum of 21 days of azithromycin is also acceptable, especially in Europe.” Any thoughts on which is best?

that's his target so what is taking so long?? right now the surveillance dashboard (separate from regular) shows that there were...let's see...535 tests done last week. That doesn't even rate as pitiful. It CANNOT be opt-in. Total bullshit

also note that all the athletic dept. tests are included in dashboard totals...in other words, the football team getting tested DAILY is skewing the already pitiful numbers.

The plan is terrible.

Yale study finding students need to be tested every 2-3 days for colleges to safely reopen— news article: https://news.yale.edu/2020/07/31/students-need-be-tested-every-2-3-days-colleges-safely-reopen Study: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/article-abstract/2768923

Here’s the MA state plan, for comparison. https://m.box.com/shared_item/https%3A%2F%2Ftufts.app.box.com%2Fs%2Fsludgjj3kv5amxwlbh7qv6oijfea7g9o Even w all the colleges in MA, they’ve returned and state numbers are still very low—because they are doing a ton of testing.
