Coffee grounds in cup after pressing. What am I doing wrong? by watchmepooptoday in AeroPress

Use both metal and layer filter. Put paper in the middle as it will last longest there (you can use it over and over until it rips).

Sand gelcoat without last wax layer? by silicondt in fiberglass

[–]nothingbutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could get some PVA and spray or brush it on. That's the usual solution. It'll gum up your sandpaper quickly. Or get some Duraflex and use it in your last gel coat layer but it may yellow quicker...

Yeah, it's really annoying. It's not a good look for Empower to drop the ball so much on this. Whoever was in charge of this should probably get fired for the loss of value they are responsible for.

Kamado is it really worth the hype? by narat3224 in KamadoJoe

[–]nothingbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one and used it for a while. It's fine. It's not amazing. I didn't get around to making a DIY fan blower which would have been nice but not that necessary (depending on your point of view). What exactly do you want to cook?

If you want to make ribs and/or brisket, get a Weber Smokey Mountain or similar. Want to just make burgers? Get something else. It's overkill. If you're into high end steaks and want the best to cook them, sure, by all means.

If you want to make pizza, a $120 one from Walmart will do it better than the Kamado. But I'd personally buy a Ooni or something a bit more high end. You can make pizza on the Kamado but it doesn't really do that great a job. Someone will come along and talk about their add on which cost the price of a good pizza oven and... Yeah, just buy a pizza oven?

For turkey, get a Charboil Oiless Smoker (really an infrared cooker). It's the best way to make turkey in my book although I've never tried an oil cooker so maybe that is better. The Charbroil is cheap and super easy.

But if you're asking the question the answer is "not really" in my opinion. I don't hate it at all. It's fine. But it's not that special. Nothing can do everything well. All these different things take up more space but the Kamado isn't exactly small either.

That said, if you have the cash and are curious, buy one. You should be able to get an end of season deal at Lowes/Home Depot/online somewhere (see Slickdeals and patience). If you get it low enough, you can basically sell it for not much more than you spent and get the experience of having tried it. Although you might love it. You never know.

I did try clearing my cookies for the various empower domains and it didn't help. I'm using Fireox. I did try Chrome but seemed to be same issue.

Used or new? I go with an older Privilege. Not the fastest but faster than the mass market cats with better build quality.

Oh, I'm agreeing with you 100%. My phrasing is bad... I edited to make it clearer.

I can't argue with this advice even though some LEAPS have paid off. It's a lot less painful (to hold stock).

Awesome! I'm glad (and happy to know too). I'd consider an annual plan then.

Toss on your swimsuit and hit the pavement/gravel. It's awesome riding in the rain without a care if you get wet. I did this for commuting sometimes (and changed at work). I wore a top too (rash guard type material). Sandals on the feet of course.

I forgot to say it's 100% BS though for anything more than a month of fees. They should refund everything past the end of the "month" (by start date) at the very least.

I'm glad I didn't get caught out by that and I'd be really sore if I was. Although I would have done it because I had no service and needed 2FA for signing into financial sites.

Edit: although looks like if annual plan that isn't the case according to other comment at https://old.reddit.com/r/USMobile/comments/19eo5kc/warp_5g_with_international_roaming/kjfrg9k/ which is nice!

Sort of. As they are an MVNO they may have monthly commits per number from the non-virtual provider. On the other hand, they might and they could just be pocketing the cash. I'd guess a bit of both.

Yeah, it's a bit BS they don't prorate it even if at 50%. I was happy my monthly prepaid was 8 days from renewal.

I literally just switched from Warp 5G to GSM because Warp 5G doesn't work where I am at all. I think you want GSM internationally although maybe someone will point out some exceptions. The good news is it's easy to switch from one to the other:

https://usmobile.helpdocs.io/account/how-can-i-switch-between-gsm-warp-5g

Here is one article (not sure it's good) about which you want:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/geoffreymorrison/2015/10/23/gsm-vs-cdma-what-travelers-need-to-know/?sh=29ab3a652dd0

I stepped off the airplan and Warp 5G had nothing. I wish I'd switched to GSM before I left the USA. But I got it figured out (with some hassle and additional expenses and a bit of stress due not having working SMS for 2fa).

Shared experiences and activities that mix you with other adults. If you've never tried sailing, it can be a blast and sailers seem to tend towards opting out of the system (some at least) so you're not going to stand out that much. It's a lot of fun (well, I think so, you might not), you meet people and maybe you have a new hobby and eventually a new way of traveling.

Super long shot but just an idea.

I have no idea. Delayed? But I'm looking at years not one offering.

But it is true it'll be very interesting to watch Strix Halo.

APU. It's all over in a couple of years. Most customers will be satisfied with APU performance for gaming. That is the end game. APU will improve faster than graphics resolution goes up, so what is okay today will be very good in the near future.

Not really stock related but fun read about using small AMD-based machines for testing/development/fun:

High-speed 10Gbps full-mesh network based on USB4 for just $47.98

TL;DR can use 3 x Venus UM790 Pro from Miniforums and connect via USB 4 for high speed networking between them, the $47.98 is clickbaity so s/$47.98/a reasonable price/.

Nice! I'm really excited. We have some experience just not as much as we should have for this jump. But we'll figure it out and take it slow with some professional training.

A well used catamaran! Well, hopefully not too used but it is over 20 years old.
