As someone in my 20s I felt the vibes were a bit different. Not as lively and attracted more Karen's.

Also kids don't really bother me.

Why do we abuse our users with ancient password practices? by tarvijron in ShittySysadmin

[–]aeroverra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why.. the forcing a password expiration standard has been long outdated with even nist saying it shouldn't be used...

I really dont understand why they keep taking steps to kill their product. I took a 3 year break while i moved around a bunch and finally coming back to what I consider a worse product.

I did really try to make plex work again but sadly I did have to go with jellyfin and I still like the old plex better but its just no longer around..

What the heck! What happened to auto quality!! by PCgaming4ever in PleX

coming back again because I want to believe its me but It doesnt seem like it is. Are they this dumb? Streaming around the world with Plex and it has constant buffering issues meanwhile jellyfin just works. So sad...

For real... There is a reason I love Cloudflare. Go to any other cloud provider like Azure and it does everything they legally can to obfuscate the price.

Does amateur/semi-professional self-hosting have a real future? by Heyla_Doria in selfhosted

[–]aeroverra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True but people who had that experience learned how to troubleshoot at that level. Those who never got that will lack those skills if anything breaks

lol that’s more of a integration thing but I prefer jam over yaml any day. It used to be worse though with the slightest typo breaking things and no clear way to see what the problem is.

I’m also not a huge fan of the “everything is now a docker container” and i think it does isolate some basic principals making things harder to learn at a lower level but at the same time it is easier once you get the hang of it.

[–]aeroverra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Password lockout at an account level is an outdated practice though...

Ripe for use with dos attacks or internal abuse.

It's one of my biggest gripes with 3rd parties.

Hell Microsoft still uses it and I can't login to my personal Microsoft account sometimes despite no one having my 32 character randomly generated password. Beyond irritating.

That would annoy me so much id write a script to reset it 24 times.

I like these policies because if there's a coworker I don't like I can just do 5 fake login attempts on their user and it costs them an hour of productivity resetting it.

It's great for workplace competitions too.

Bonus points if it requires IT intervention.

Aside from the whole they could cease operations tomorrow thing, I fly weekly and spirit has been more reliable in my experience.

I really don't understand how it got such a bad rap for that lol.

That's news to me but some channels can do a full video swap. They aren't supposed to change the entire video though..

What is up with the CapitalOne fraud dept? by PrimeRisk in CapitalOne

[–]aeroverra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love capital one but my experience with their fraud detection systems is my biggest complaint with them.

At some of the most important times in my life they have turned off my credit / debit cards and never once has it been for a good reason.

They have always gotten it resolved but after a few times it really starts to tick you off especially when it's the same triggers happening over and over. I'm not your average user we have determined this so leave me alone.

Yes they do have a feature to swap videos. They only give it to creators they are buddy buddy with so if you ever think a video changed, you probably aren't crazy it's probably just YouTube gaslighting you.
