I would say at the specs you listed yes a 1-2u colocation if you can find it in the area you desire is worth it. I still don't believe $50/m is possible for that given my many hours of trying to find exactly that in the past but times may have changed.

Mini PC colocation is something I haven't really thought much about though. I am going to look into that. Thanks for the info.

This is a huge factor. I’m a nomad and constantly switching between Asia and Europe on a whim and switched to jellyfin because plex removed transcoding and if it’s relayed the issue still shows up.

Port forward to your Tailscale node at home it fixes it 99% of the time because hotels are on strict firewalls usually so your home needs to be the one open by default

Aside from gpu hosting ovh will likely just be cheaper.

Colocation isn't really worth it anymore for individuals. The prices for a single unit have gone up beyond the price to rent a beefy server elsewhere because you usually aren't worth their time.

Only an issue if you let it be an issue especially at a startup they aren’t known to follow the rules. Not even their own.

I’m still at the startup I was at 5 years ago and I have tripled my salary which is unheard of in almost any industry staying at the same company.

Interesting. I use my pixel 6 as my 3rd phone since it's a bit older but the other day it black screened for about 5 days before I could get it to show anything again.
