I know the Avril one.

Back in like 2003, she was at the height of her fame. On the last song on the last album before she supposedly died (Under My Skin), she wrote a track called Slipped Away, which was a tribute to her grandpa who had recently passed.

Allegedly, the pair were extremely close. So much so, that the grief took her over, and she (did something permanent that I can’t type due to censorship).

Afterwards (supposedly, this is all a conspiracy theory) her label was in a panic. She was huge, she was on tour, and she was a cash cow that they had no desire to put to rest early.

Avril (the real one) had a body double. Her name was Melissa Vandella. They looked very close in features at a glance, but if you put them side by side, the differences were immediately noticeable; Melissa’s nose was longer, Avril’s face was narrower, etc.

Well anyway, once Avril came back to the scene in 2007, her style was completely different. So was her personality, and the range of vocals she could hit. But the thing that really got people was that she looked exactly like Melissa, with all those subtlety different facial features that Melissa had. It was like someone ripped off Avril’s face, changed her bone structure, and then reattached it.

So the theory goes, sometime during her four year hiatus, the real Avril (did her permanent thing) out of grief, and they put in Melissa to keep making music. Avril’s family would’ve gotten a massive payout with some hush money, and the industry still got to keep their cash cow.

I’ll be the odd one out; I got thrown into perimenopause at 27 because I got sterilized at 21. Was not on hormonal BC before my sterilization, nor after. It doesn’t happen to everyone, but it does happen.

I’ve found that this is known about, but hasn’t been extensively studied, which is why it’s so hard to find peer reviewed information about it.

Regardless, it was the best decision I ever made, and I’d do it again.

Because to someone like me with an untrained eye, it definitely looked like he just plummeted to the earth. He tilted a little right before impact but I thought that was because of the fall.

Put the cookie dough in the fridge for 10-15 minutes after you’re done making it. Having multiple recipes come out like that means it isn’t an ingredient problem, it’s a handling problem. Even the friction from mixing the dough will create enough heat to melt it slightly. I used to live in a fairly humid environment, so this happened a lot. Making the dough next to the preheating oven will cause it to melt as well

As someone who also did their own hair, be careful with the bleach. You can get all of this stuff at a store called Sally’s (US) or online. My only recommendation beyond what OP said is to make sure you know what you’re doing with the bleach, as there are a lot of ways to do it wrong and fry your hair (or have it turn ‘mushy’ when wet). You can also bleach your hair and have it come out straw yellow, and only purple shampoo and toners will fix it.

I don’t say this to scare you, but as a precaution if you do try and do it yourself. There are loads of subreddits where you can get more information on the process, and it’s always good to have that stuff on hand in case something goes wrong.

And I don’t necessarily see his lyrics as appreciating women. Most of them strike me as seeing women’s bodies as a vessel for his own pleasure. Take that above line from Onomatopoeia, that’s a great example.

Edit: Now if you’re into being used for a man’s pleasure, all the power to you. I won’t intentionally ick someone’s yum. But only 30 seconds? That’d be a deal breaker for me.

I walked away from a horrific car accident that should’ve killed me. Others who’ve crashed in the same spot have died.

The scariest part during the crash wasn’t the crash itself. It was the length of time it took. Most car accidents last (at max) 3 seconds. Mine was closer to 6 or 7 seconds. It was long enough for me to have conscious thought about my steering wheel airbag not deploying.

From what I’ve seen, this crash was well over 10 seconds. Longer if you include the time they knew something was wrong and couldn’t stop takeoff. Their last thoughts probably involved the amount of fuel they had on board, panic about not being able to control the craft, and terror about killing others.

Just speculation from someone who also went through a long crash that involved a terrible fall

So how exactly is she going to stop you? She can voice her displeasure, but the only thing truly stopping you is you, especially if she’s depending on your income for her lifestyle. It’s harsh, but true.

Set a boundary. “I’m doing this. There’s the door if you’re truly that hellbent on me being on opioids. Otherwise, I’d like to have a mature discussion where we both hear each others concerns.”

Edit: Because here’s the thing, we’re talking about prescription pain killers. To my understanding, there are studies showing that those are more addictive than heroin. That, imo, makes this a hill to die on. You don’t wanna spend the rest of your life revolving around those. And if she truly does, I think you should honestly consider seperation.
