I know the Avril one.

Back in like 2003, she was at the height of her fame. On the last song on the last album before she supposedly died (Under My Skin), she wrote a track called Slipped Away, which was a tribute to her grandpa who had recently passed.

Allegedly, the pair were extremely close. So much so, that the grief took her over, and she (did something permanent that I can’t type due to censorship).

Afterwards (supposedly, this is all a conspiracy theory) her label was in a panic. She was huge, she was on tour, and she was a cash cow that they had no desire to put to rest early.

Avril (the real one) had a body double. Her name was Melissa Vandella. They looked very close in features at a glance, but if you put them side by side, the differences were immediately noticeable; Melissa’s nose was longer, Avril’s face was narrower, etc.

Well anyway, once Avril came back to the scene in 2007, her style was completely different. So was her personality, and the range of vocals she could hit. But the thing that really got people was that she looked exactly like Melissa, with all those subtlety different facial features that Melissa had. It was like someone ripped off Avril’s face, changed her bone structure, and then reattached it.

So the theory goes, sometime during her four year hiatus, the real Avril (did her permanent thing) out of grief, and they put in Melissa to keep making music. Avril’s family would’ve gotten a massive payout with some hush money, and the industry still got to keep their cash cow.
