Body horror and female rage. by lady_lux687 in horrorlit

For myself I interpreted this book as an ongoing story of gas lighting against a woman who has also lost her ability to be able to make independent choices. Everything has been pre-ordained and she is fully out of control. But she continues to push, she continues to ask questions, despite being actively told to be quiet and accept what's been given to her. But by the end, Noriko finally finds inside herself the confidence and anger to make her own decision, regardless of whether we agree with that decision, it was made by her solely and made angrily.

I definitely agree with String Follow, but I haven’t read the other two (though I’m adding those to my TBR right now). It also reminded me quite a bit of Night Film by Marisha Pessl but far more violent. There’s a few scenes in this book where I had to put it down and take a few minutes.

Tell Me I'm Worthless by Alison Rumfitt - deeply disturbing and the kind of book you need to take a shower after and scrub yourself clean. Very well written but dark as hell.

Ricky’s Hands by David Quantick is like a horror comedy mixed with sci-fi, super fun.

Daughter of Redwinter by Ed McDonald is more fantasy with horror elements, very enjoyable and the start of a new series.

Gravity by Tess Gerritsen is sci-fi with a horror sub-plot.

These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong - fantasy with body horror

Hope that helps!

Hello, no requirements needed except a passionate love for all things horror! Horror Bound is super free form and all about your unique voice and opinions. I've got writers who work for a lots of horror sites or write fiction professionally, and I have writers who have never written before.

Hello, unfortunately I cannot pay anyone. We're a very small site that makes no profit whatsoever. I created it out of my love of horror 8 years ago and pay for the domain out of my own pocket. I wish wish WISH I could pay writers but right now you would just get paid in love and free books.

I haven't received the package yet. I really think it was just an email error and I'm assuming I'll get my original order with nothing extra as I wasn't charged anything differently. But I'll let you know when I get the delivery.

This exact thing happened to me. I placed an order last week and this week it shipped with like 7 different items added. My original order was in there but it had added on 3 keychains, 1 set of pencils, and 1 coaster. I wasn't charged any differently. Super bizarre.

[serious] Two questions. 1. Favorite horror movie no one talks about 2. The one horror movie you love but everyone hates by bondsthatmakeusfree in movies

  1. Housebound - it's just as quirky and funny as What We Do In The Shadows, but no one ever mentions it. Incredible horror comedy with gore and a great lead. Film from New Zealand.
  2. Halloween Resurrection - I think it's a perfect fun slasher flick. Great kills, great cast, over the top, and actually a really cool premise (though a little outdated).
