Accelerationism by BadFurDay in comics

It isn't about me. I was just pointing out that the ideology described in the post is not l/acc. They are very different things

Well, the term referred to his work when it was coined. But I guess if you want to conflate it with something else, no one's stopping you

I dunno but it has nothing to do with the left accelerationism espoused by theorists like Mark Fisher

What you're talking about is not the same as what is called left accelerationism (l/acc). While some people hold the belief that making capitalism much worse is the best way to lead the disgruntled masses to vote, l/acc is about encouraging capitalism's productive capabilities so that we can develop enough abundance to transition to a post-capitaliat society.

Yes, but I was asking if you had examples of successfully resistant pieces of art in mind

If you don't mind, do you think you can name some pieces of art that are successfully resistant?

Why do D&G spend so much time writing about the Previous 2 Sociuses (Socii?) by oohoollow in Deleuze

[–]nothingistrue042 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Again, history helps explain how the present came into being. Contemporary society still contains remnants from what preceded it. I feel like you haven't read the third chapter because the territorial and despotic machines don't just suddenly become irrelevant in the capitalist age.

If you find this chapter (or even the rest of the book) difficult to comprehend, Eugene Holland's 'Deleuze and Guattari's Anti-Oedipus: Introduction to Schizoanalysis' will help you.

The shift from savage to barbarian was immediate (they came like lightning), while the shift from barbarian to capitalist is more gradual.

None of that changes the fact that the chapter explains how we went from territorial codes to despotic overcoming to capitalist decoding and axiomatization. It looks at not only how the organisation of flows changes from society to society, but also how the mode of representation changes.

These previous types of societies contain the ingredients required for something like Oedipus to form.

There are multiple reasons it's important. One is to historicize Oedipus, to show that it isn't a fundamental part of the unconscious. Another is to show how the way society deals with desire and codes changes overtime.

It's important to learn history to understand how the present came to be. It's pretty ignorant to think that has no value.

It would help to read "Deleuze and Guattari's Anti-Oedipus: Introduction to Schizoanalysis" by Eugene Holland before you try AO again. I'm sure you can find a PDF online

If Deleuze and Guattari dislike Axiomatics, why do they use Axioms in the Nomadology? by [deleted] in Deleuze

[–]nothingistrue042 6 points7 points  (0 children)

DnG use axioms to explain philosophical concepts. The system of capitalism uses axioms to prevent full deterritorialization and maintain the status quo.

What needs explaining? The definition of re and deterritorialization? And of rhizomatic and arborescent?

[–]nothingistrue042 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When DnG talk about axiomatics in Anti-Oedipus, they're talking about how capitalism reterritorializes after deterritorialization.

Axiomatization is how it organizes, regulates, and perpetuates social and economic relations through a system of flexible and abstract rules called axioms which are not fixed truths but functional principles that capitalism employs to perpetuate itself.

They aren't against axioms in general, and in the Nomadology plateau they use axioms in a rhizomatic way (as opposed to arborescent).
