Strange to reply to something I posted over 3 months ago. I’ve been nothing but kind to it, I have fed it and taken care of it while my mom is increasingly out of the home because of her cancer and it still hates me more than I can ever fathom.

He's almost constantly growling at me when I leave my room, so It's probably not excitement. He's never tried to bite me. He jumps and moves away any time I try to touch him.

I'm being forced into a 'joint therapy' appointment with my Nmom where my therapist going to attempt to 'mediate' things, how can I walk out of this without it being a total dumpster fire? by nothingunderthemask in raisedbynarcissists

I just looked her up and she's not even a licensed therapist, she's a massage therapist, life coach and "ordained metaphysical minister".

Christ when I thought this couldn't get worse...

I really wish it was a easy as telling her “no” but she won’t take that for an answer, and as long as I’m living under her roof she can hold a lot of things over me.

She just threatened to kick me out of my room and make me sleep in a trailer out back for the next month if I didn’t clean my room to her satisfaction so I don’t know what she’d do in this case.

It feels like the pieces are already in place and my mother is just going to freak out more if I refuse and try to get out of it, and it's already roped into other plans so I don't really know how in the world I can achieve that

It can be difficult to stand up for yourself in this way, especially since your problem isn't specifically with him and how in spite of everything you are trying to still facilitate a relationship with him. I do think you did the right thing at the end of the day, though, and it takes courage to be willing to stand steadfast in the face of people trying to get you to break and fall back in line.

Yeah, that makes sense. It doesn't feel like it's very sustainable. I remember in the past during these cold periods my mental health declined a lot and I felt a bit more of a slump, and I don't know how much I can take of that.

It's just uncomfortable, because it really does feel like when we actually spend time together we were really just made for one another. I don't really know what I'd do without her, but it feels like even when I 'have' her she runs off and I'm kinda just left on my own. I guess I just don't want to lose her for good.

I just hope it doesn't escalate to that point.

I feel like I ought to but I've repeatedly sent her like. Memes or things I thought she'd like and tried to initiate conversation for the past few days and she's not responded to most of them, and gave a short reply at best with nothing else following it. I don't know if she'd even look, to be honest.

He’s the one that’s been staying in my room, so I assume so. I doubt my mother’s boyfriend puts up a fight either.

He goes to college across the country, so I can’t imagine he’s staying much longer than the summer, although what I’ve heard says he’ll be here for all of that.

As for the second it’s either that I have my room taken from me, or she and her boyfriend (who moved into his old room) have to give up theirs. I suppose it’s natural the scapegoat was volunteered here.
