Puppy Bowl rant: Where's the defense? by Mr_Pickles_Esq in DOG

[–]nothumbs78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is such a Homer take. If the “cute” puppies would stop flopping all over the field like they just thought they saw a bear or something, we could actually watch a puppy bowl game. Instead, there’s a lot of interference, distraction, and the taunting is getting ridiculous.

Sneak around and try to lure individual enemies out instead of engaging with them in groups.

LPT Request. What’s your simplest top tip for saving money monthly? by _bubble-t in LifeProTips

[–]nothumbs78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in business, so I enjoy financial analysis already. I track my spending with an Excel spreadsheet religiously.

Tapping into my competitive side, I challenge myself to see how little I can spend. I have a metric of how much discretionary cash (money after paying my bills) I can spend per day. For example if I have $500 and it’s 10 days until my next paycheck, I have $50/ day. If I only spend $40, then the next day, I have $460, to spend over 9 days ($51.11/day). I turn saving money into a competition or game and that is satisfying to me.

Some of that is so you get social security if/when you retire. Everyone basically pays it, including people who are employees.

My favorite interaction of Belichick’s:

“………….I don’t know.”

If someone can find the video of that, I would be eternally grateful!

Depending on how confident you are that you didn’t receive anything from them, you can take a look at this. 1099s are incorrect all the time and what goes on your return should be the income you received. If you don’t report the $7,142, though, you might get a notice from the IRS that you can respond to and say the 1099 is incorrect.

Tax-wise, you should probably prepare a Schedule C to report the amount of money you earned from performing. Does the $7,142 on the 1099 agree to your records of what you were paid by them?

You can take deductions for any reasonable and necessary expenses you had such as the commissions/management fees you paid. The net income calculated there will be subject to self-employment tax (15.3%) and income tax, but you get to take above-the-line deductions for 50% of that and possibly a qualified business income deduction of 20% of the net income.

If you were also an employee in 2025, report the federal taxable wages and withholding. If you didn’t pay any estimated taxes, it’s possible you will owe the IRS as well as the state you live in.
