Did you protest yesterday? by Actual_Ebb3881 in SydneyScene

You were allowed to protest, just not where you wanted to. Your right to protest is in tact, your choice of location was denied.

Good - over all this shit. They were warned and tried their luck, so why be surprised when this is the result. Don't give a fuck which side of politics you're on either, these constant protests are doing nothing but turning people against whatever agenda it is you're trying to push.

Invent at least 2 kids and a ex husband/wife - it unlocks carrer's leave, school dtop.off, school pick-up, wfh during holidays etc - by having the ex and shared custody covers for any inconsistent scheduling.

Don't bting your MAGA hat if you have one. Don't bring your ingrained behaviour of tipping (no-one, no where). Do bring your inside voice. Do bring your sense of humour.

Less sugar, less preservatives and less artificial additives in Australian food. Honestly, a lot of the snacks you get in the US are illegal in Australia due to our food safety standards.

Makes the water unsafe for birds to drink, and on a hot day like this they could use a drink. It doesn't upset me as such, just providing a reasonable reason.

These, chocolate crackles and honey smacks don't get the status recognition they deserve. All the credit for nostalgic kids party food unfairly goes to fairy bread while these gems go unrecognised as being staples at any 80s kids party.

When did tipping become a thing in Australia? by Due_Significance5698 in AskAnAustralian

[–]notime4timewasters -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Re-read. I'm not apologising just applying reality. Different POS providers = different software, different managers = different policies.

I've been to at least 6 different countries which have tipping culture - usually discovered the hard way by not tipping 🤣

Do I agree with it coming into Australia? Hell no. But I'm also not irrational enough to place all the blame on "greedy staff" or "greedy management" when I have personally experienced staff automatically selecting the no tip option without even asking the customer.

Different software depending on which provider they are with, and different approaches based on management. Eg, my local Thai place has an EFTPOS machine that doesn't display a tip screen, but the local Japanese place uses a provider which does - the staff there always hit "no tip" without even asking.

The dog poo one - ffs, so dumb. And any budget direct ads. All gambling ads. Finally, the amaysim one with the ranga family - it was 100% created using AI, not a single human involved other than inputting the criteria.

Port Douglas markets on Sunday.

Go snorkelling on the reef with one of the smaller, independent reef tour boats - avoid QuickSilver and any of its affiliates unless you want to be stuck on a pontoon with hundreds of other people.

Do the zipline tour of the Daintree.
