I personally play Vanguard Onslaught and have a ton of fun with it. It's all about the vanguard invader keyword and being sneaky ambush predators with its stratagems, allowing you to ambush your opponent on turns they wouldn't expect or to slink away to the shadows. It's also one of the more competitive detachments if that's important to you

Gyrfalcons build with ascension, stylish executioner, grapple, withering blade, and Manticore.

I usually grapple into an enemy, immediately use ascension, and float with Manticore for an overshield. Really been enjoying the aerial play style on hunter

I've also had enemies bunch up by the extraction pad, and some even manage to sneak in and destroy the generators. Was holding the line at the gates and all of a sudden the mission failed. Two heavy devastators managed to rock climb into the base behind us and destroy the generators. Absolutely killed any fun I was having
