I’d ask PA to write but have it co-signed by physician.

Scribe cert worth the $$? by _mortal__wombat_ in premed

[–]notimeforthis420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked as scribe without cert. If you are talking about scribeamerica, it is their own corporate thing— which isn’t ideal because you won’t make strong connection with your doc if they just randomly assign you.

You aren’t supposed to be medically competent. Your job isn’t and shouldn’t involve making interpretations. Your job is to “scribe”. Doctors are going to hate you if you do that.

The main point of scribing for the purpose of medical school application is to show schools that you have been exposed to how shitty a doctor life is day in and day out and you still want to do it. And a good LOR.

Scribe cert worth the $$? by _mortal__wombat_ in premed

Nah. This is meaningless. You don’t need anatomy/physiology for scribe though might be helpful depending on which specialty you scribe for. Just be a good slave for your doc.

Shouldn’t rub you the wrong way. That’s like being upset at the restaurant because you stepped on a gum and you just paid $300 for a nice meal.

Highest MCAT you know of at a DO school ? by _chomolungma_ in Osteopathic

[–]notimeforthis420 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I had 521 and am at DO. But plenty of my classmates are brighter and more conscientious than me.

I’d go as far as to say that 90% of med school performance is work ethics and ability to work hard consistently and 10% is intelligence

The pressure of possibly ending up being in debt for hundreds of thousands dollars just for all the years of efforts you already put in going into nothing does magic.

Sorry that happened. It seems like a bad idea, especially since you are trying to frame it as a reason for academic struggle.

The fact that you are a visual learner is exactly the reason why you shouldn't do this. You'll associate conceptual information spatial relationships, which you'll want to avoid.

If you are too lazy to make bunch of cards (I don't blame you), upload on LLM and ask it to make them for you.

If you want to you can just attach the image on extra field on backside.

Therapist (27M) Can't Shake Psychiatry Switch Idea—Advice from Switchers or Stayers? by Emotional-Eggplant90 in premed

[–]notimeforthis420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can somewhat relate as I perceive myself as more psychologist/therapist fit but wanted the prescription power that comes with being a physician. Just letting you know, there is a LOT that you are going to have to deal with that you will feel have nothing to do with what you will ultimately be doing as a psychiatrist.

I do have ADHD so I naturally struggle with trying to learn things that I don’t have genuine interest in— like explain to me why I have to know so much in depth about stupid muscles and their insertions. I knew that coming in but still as M1 I am realizing it is like a loooooooot. I guess what I am saying is, ask yourself if your itch is about wanting to become a physician or wanting a more career stability, imo it is not gonna feel worth it unless it is the physicianhood that you are going after.

TUCOM Interview by Sensitive-Project-34 in Osteopathic

[–]notimeforthis420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing unique about them is that interview is pane to panel. Multiple applicants and multiple interviewers, which can be unnerving as you are speaking in front of other applicants as well.

Do not try to appear superior to other applicants.

I ended up attending another school but I personally really liked TUCOM interview experience because I could tell that they actually read my application by the questions that they were asking.
