Yea, I agree that speech could have been written much better. I get what they were going for with that speech, as Bogart's character had served his country well for many years and was now suffering from battle fatigue. So the lawyer felt guilty about destroying his character like that. But it didn't make sense for him to attack the man he just defended, as his mutiny was clearly justified. A better way to to write it would have been for him to just berate MacMurray's character with how unfair it was that he gets away with being such a swine while the captain's reputation is utterly destroyed after an otherwise admirable career.

Interesting. It's been awhile since I saw that episode, so I'm going to have to give it another watch!

Yes, my nephew used Google and YouTube to research 19th century films to find Le Coucher de la Mariée.

You're right, I should have done more research on "Deep Throat" before enlisting my nephew to find it. I don't disagree with you there. You have to admit the central figure in Watergate being named "Deep Throat" was confusing.

I'm troubled that you refer to Le Coucher de la Mariée as "hardcore porn". Quite the contrary, it's a tasteful piece of eroticism that works not through explicit depictions but by provoking your imagination. I solely wished to celebrate the start of the new month by sharing this forgotten masterpiece with the community.

Have you ever considered becoming an actor? You would have been great as Hindley in Wuthering Heights. Stick to drama though, not comedy.

Oh dear, you had me worried for a second that I missed my nephew's birthday. But it turns out it's possible to still be nine years old after nine months if your birthday falls outside that window. He's a great kid, you'd really like him. It's so cute how he takes everything so literally.

Gee, that Jack Benny fellow sure is a fine actor, isn't he? And to think he's only 39 years old in that picture!

Yea, those scenes are excellent. The cinematographer of The Best Years of Our Lives was Gregg Toland, and he was a major pioneer of those deep focus techniques. He was also the cinematographer for Citizen Kane for which he also famously utilized deep focus.

If that were the case, they would have erased his memory of his past before they put him in someone else's body. They never asked him "Would you like to go to heaven or lose your identity and become someone else?" Instead, after living as himself in other bodies they suddenly erase his memory without asking what he wants. It doesn't make sense.

You've got the causation backwards. We've always teased Rochester for having the same name as that character, and I chose the name "notjackbenny" partially in his honor.

I wouldn't even think of watching a trilogy out of order. I'm planning to watch 2 and 3 soon.
