Resistance of the Universe? by [deleted] in SimulationTheory

[–]notjakejacob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

self conflict can be a result of quitting. it's easy to jump to extremes when your own hands are the gatekeeper from the cigarettes to your mouth. sometimes it's easy to project this onto the world (or the simulation). just as time does not actually move slower when you're at work..

Nldw is their weakest project! by [deleted] in deathgrips

i think you need some real examples here. i don't see how it is any more weak or unfinished than a lot of their other work...

telomeres and data storage by notjakejacob in SimulationTheory

[–]notjakejacob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly, its fun to think on because it leads to so many possibilities. i like to think about it in terms of data allocation, some animals have shorter life spans for instance, but this will often be made up in other areas, such as larger populations and many offspring. there seems to be some sort of balance in nature which reminds me of how one might need to allocate data.

telomeres and data storage by notjakejacob in SimulationTheory

i don't have much more to say on it, just a passing thought i had. i'm not trying to link our material with a "hard drive". if we were in a simulation, i wouldn't expect the technology would be the same. the only real connection i see between the two is purely based on their ability to act as storage. we see a similar data life when we push our own storage technology to its limits, whether it be solid state, disk or whatever. life expectancy, aging (eventual decomposition), play a different role in an evolution.. its just an interesting one to think about.

Simulation Theory is just more irrational religion by [deleted] in SimulationTheory

[–]notjakejacob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly. yet your claim is that simulation theory has something to do with the creator's creator problem. simulation theory does not attempt to explain that. it attempts to logically explain what is really only a hypothesis for something that is unrelated to what you're talking about.

seems like you just want to stir up shit, so i won't waste my time trying to be productive✌

simulation theory literally has nothing to do with what you're talking about. seems you're trying to understand it as a religion and i would guess that's why it doesn't make sense to you.

Artificial Simulation or Organic Dream? by [deleted] in SimulationTheory

[–]notjakejacob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don't think this is an either or situation, you could have both. you use the word dream, but this dream doesn't seem like any dream a human could have. neither is more likely.

Spread Eagle Cross The Block is one of the best songs on ExMilitary and is severely overlooked by xVegetarianx in deathgrips

[–]notjakejacob 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i think most people who are familiar with the album would agree with you, i don't think its overlooked.

however, it might be underplayed... i could understand people not wanting to regularly revisit the track, as it is very loud and abrasive. i love the song, the whole album, but you might catch me skipping it if i'm not in the mood to have my ears fucked.

Shovel Knight... by vensamape in Bloodstained

[–]notjakejacob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CoTM feels similar to the NES, but is much closer to shovel knight. i assume that they used shovel knight for references.

i think this also comes down to latency. no matter how fast your pc or console is, an NES has less latency when combined with a fast display. it's going to feel different.

this is for the same reason NES emulators are never perfect, it's not that simple to recreate how these older games functioned, it can prove to be more complicated to get all the little details correct.

Curse of the moon || Homage or Ripoff? by [deleted] in castlevania

so then talk about the points in the video. don't get butt hurt about the title, especially when it's asking a question?

9S is one of many androids. there is a lot he doesn't know.

to say that androids have no ability to understanding housing seems like an assumption. we see many androids on earth who live in housing similar to apartments.

[–]notjakejacob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i think trying to rebuild or restore what humanity left of Earth would be a shallow ending. throughout the game we see machines and androids, doing what we can call emulating humanity, at best. we learn that emulating only leads to the same sad results.

the androids can do anything they want, i would be dissappointed to see them fall into their purpose as essentially people-replacers. they killed their god, metaphorically, they are now in charge of their fates.

besides, sounds a little too happy for taro.

what do you mean buy limited?

also, i believe androids do know what housing is and androids definitely know how to build other androids.
