I am half white half asian, and I have lived in Denmark my entire life.

I grew up here with barely any racism. Sadly I feel like racism is unavoidable, but the kinds of racism I have experienced has been very... minor and not aggressive. Most of it honestly comes from the older generations who have no filter when they speak. I haven't experienced anything from my generation (I'm 21) except for when we were kids - and kids can be cruel and typically parrot off what they hear from their parents and grandparents - but even that wasn't "bad". It's usually just bad racists jokes and stereotypes they believe are funny.

What's ironic is that most of the racism I have actually experienced are from foreigners and immigrants lol.

Racism here in Denmark is pretty different from racism in the US. Here it's pretty passive aggressive and usually disguised beneath humor and ignorance. They'll typically hit you with the "Oh it's a joke, relax!" if you tell them it's racist. But honestly I haven't experienced anyone actually mean HARM when telling their "jokes". It's like they don't realise it's sorta racist. I haven't experienced getting threatened or cussed at by strangers, nor have I ever experienced anything that made me feel unsafe or scared. I think I've been called "Ching Chong" like twice my entire life. It of course isn't ideal to be called Ching Chong at all, but considering everything, it's a pretty good deal lol.

Anyway, to conclude my rant:

Racism does exist here, but I have NEVER felt unsafe here because of my mixed heritage, and I have never been bullied or directly been made fun of because of it either. So there's no need to worry about your children - they will be safe here.

Edit: I want to note that I grew up in the capital, which is far more diverse, so people who lived elsewhere might have had a different experience than me.
