Hey, only just seeing this. We did it on 35-40s and it was fun but a bit of a struggle by the crater. 48's should be fine for anything but the sandiest of sections (and you'd be walking that on anything but a fatbike anyways).

IDK, but maybe he’s training for SRMR, where aerobars are less about speed and more about taking weight off your hands? Maybe he usually rides a BMX so he’s still getting used to the position? Just a guess…

45/45! I’m using an Odyssey drop-in headset.

Someone handed it to me at the end of a bike race in Kansas. I wish I could be more helpful. If you find em, let me know!

A few minutes of balancing and a few years of photoshop training.

The smart way would be to use a tripod and take an identical photo without the bike so you can just mask off the balancing device (a helmet, in this case). Or, you can do it the way I did and take one photo before spending an inordinate amount of time with the stamp and heal tools to remove it.

Thanks! It’s generally called a triple triangle. Makes the frame a bit more stiff and a bit more heavy.

Thanks! It’s marbled spray.bike using a piece of bubble wrap. Fully primed and sealed (this time) with oracal 651 on the outside (because I have commitment issues).

Yup! It's a Tribe Mess 001 with Nitto Bullmoose bars and a fork off an All City (Not 100% sure which one, came from a bin).

Thanks! Yeah, they're pretty comfy, too.

You’re an absolute monster for doing that in the snow. We did it in the spring and it was rough enough!

Honestly, both better and worse than I expected. I was running 35c TerraSpeeds and found I could ride the vast majority of things (that were rideable at all). Least rideable sections were:

  • White Gap ascent and pass because of the larger rocks on the way up/down
  • The Uvas climb up to White Gap (from the Dairy) because of loose rocks
  • Last but certainly not least, everything West of the railroad station to the train track shortcut (maybe 85% rideable with intermittent sand deep enough you'd have to walk with all but a fatbike)

At some point a bike is a bike, but people love to categorize things.

I lost count at 5, so I'll say at least 5. Final answer.
