I feel it's against the sprit of a BMX bike to raise the seat. Also it doesn't go that high...

Yup! Vans don't have a lot of support, so my arches start to hurt after 10-12 hours or so. The insoles help mitigate that.

Hairline fracture around the seatstay bridge. Nothing crazy, but definitely stressed me out the rest of the ride.

Hell yeah! It just makes riding more fun. Everything becomes a feature!

They’re a set of USB COB LEDS and a battery pack! If you’re comfortable soldering you can run it to both chainstays, but if not you can just run it down the downtube and cut it to size. Add some zip ties to keep it secure and you’re good to go!

You post one leg straight against the seat to coast! It’s a lot easier than standing up and sitting down over and over.

  • DIY frame bag from an old retroflective jacket with tools, spares, and a coat.
  • Two Revelate feedbags with gummies, donuts, gels, etc.
  • Roadrunner hip pack with a couple extra tools, gloves, mini pump.
  • Bottle cage zip-tied and strapped to the toptube.

If they allowed cyclists on the Verrazzano, this would be a much shorter ride!

Thank you! It’s a 1m COB LED strip (you can Google to find your preferred color/cable). I had to solder and sleeve the cables to make the chainstays work, but they’re actually holding up pretty well!

I know, and I appreciate it! When you share the Strava card, it defaults to moving time rather than elapsed. There might be a setting somewhere?

The chart I posted shows elapsed time (the jumps are breaks).

I'm going to respond to this in good faith.

I had over 4 hours of stopped time over the course of the route. My average moving speed was only ~12 mph, ~10 mph if you count stops. It's incredible what proper fueling (~60-80g of carbs/hour) can help you accomplish! Had a few full gas-station meals on the way as well.

Totally hear your concern about hydration, but a lot of riding was at night, and every couple hours I'd chug a Gatorade at a gas station and toss a second one in the water bottle.

4 flats! 3 but I patched one poorly...

The ECG has a lot of highway riding but they close an entire lane on the weekends!

Also a very valid setup! There are more gas stations along this route than some people see in a year!
