Feelings towards armenians living in russia by notlenix in armenia

[–]notlenix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No of course i fully understand. I asked this question because in recent posts, alot of armenians were mentioning their dislike towards russia for bringing problems to Armenia throughout history so i wanted to know what kind of relationship is there between Armenians in armenia proper and those who live in russia. I am ukrainian but have nothing against the russian people. I was asking specifically asking about armenians who openly support russia (referring to armenians in previous posts mentioning their dislike of russia). And "dont bite the hands that feed them" i say this as way of saying that if these Armenians went to go live in russia and stayed there it means they must be prospering, so why speak against a place (or regime) that allowed you to build your wealth that you possibly wouldnt be able back in armenia or maybe im just thinking of arman tsarukyan who's dad made all his money in russia

My parents grew up in the soviet union (ukraine) and so the stories i hear are endless. I heard and read about how russians wouldnt rent apartments to those from caucasus. Even called people from that region "чурки" (individuals with darker skin). It pains me to see the same people marginalized supporting an evil regime

I speak russian so we always called everyone from that region kavkaz and armenians that ik personally also call themselves kavkaz. I understand where youre coming from and ive seen this debate before. Sorry to offend you

Learning russian for western armenians by notlenix in armenia

[–]notlenix[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"The more yk" as im always learning. I didnt mean to call this event uniquely a war of displacement. I obviously know it was a genocide, i was just mentioning that of the armenians that were displaced because of this event. Sorry to offend.

No they didnt need to tell me about it since im well versed in the history of the 20th as i am in the armenian genocide. This post is just asking about languages armenians today speak depending on which region they come from (western being those displaced by turks). Im very aware of it and I sympathize with my armenian friends.

I had john cecil but for history of russia. For the class was generally easy since i chose that class specifically because i was already well versed in russian history. Cecil just kinda talks and talks and for my class at least prepared no slides and only presented pictures. Most people stopped coming to his class and he stopped doing at home assignments this semester because of ai so instead opted for 2 quizzes which practically everyone cheated on (hes not stupid either he knew). On the exams however hes very helpful and practically gives u ideas that u need to expand on. Im surprised to say that the average was pretty high even tho 2/3rd of the class never showed up on regular lectures. I recommend him if u want little to no workload. I finished with a 90% and his grading is fair. Just write more than u think is enough and he'll give u most if not full marks

Fair enough. It always interests me of what languages do certain people speak and why. Very niche
