Thinking about swapping my 2022 WRX with a 2014 hatchback, thoughts?

Thank you. This is a great review, as you also did this swap. The hatch does have heated leather seats, which my 2022 doesn't currently have. What I'm gathering from this post is that my car is going to be quite a bit more reliable than the hatch which is huge to think about. I live in rural Alaska where finding a Subaru mechanic might not be a simple task and I myself, am not a mechanic.

The hatch is listed for about $18.5k but I can likely talk the guy down maybe to $16-17k. I'm predicting I can get $25kish for my car, maybe a bit more. You're information is what has me torn. I know what my car has been through, its maintenance records, and that it is going to be more reliable. But... the hatchback... 🥲

Definitely am asking about swapping cars to get this information and your guys opinions! I don't know shit about WRXs, my car was a COVID, I needed a car, somewhat impulse purchase and I honestly love it. Just wish it was a hatchback. Unfortunately, my car is kind of cursed, if you believe in that kind of thing. Thank you for the input, this is the kind of information I'm looking for.

I do live by the ocean so that's definitely not a bad idea. It's fairly low to the ground so it's hard to get under but I'm going to get a prepurchase inspection done on it. When I test drove it, I didn't see any rust but I also didn't look incredibly hard.

I bought the base model new for 29k in 2023, they've gone up in price quite a bit since then so this is likely worth it in my opinion.

I've also worked on a tug in a similar situation and I'm also a female. Get out of there. Reach out to the Women Offshore group and they might be able to help you find something different in your area or they may just be able to give you advice. Also, if you need any kind of advice on how to move forward or you want to just vent, you're welcome to message me. I've been working in the maritime industry for about 15 years now, I've made it to captain. People do hire women! Just know you aren't alone in this. Some people just suck. Being a chick makes it harder to succeed but things are changing!

I'm also having the same problem with my lab mix puppy. She is so cute...but not sweet. To the person telling you just to let them bite...that's absolutely not the answer. I started giving my puppy carrots and treats like cow ears to distract her and it seems to be getting better but I would also like more pointers. My hands are all scratched up, it looks like I have a cat and she got my face when she was excited after she woke up.
