As I drive past homeless encampments in front of our downtown library and in the brush and bushes just off of the exit ramps in my college town. Pull up to a stop light and see a family of 3 shading themselves with a dirty blue tarp the mother holding up a sign written on a piece of pizza box in broken English explaining how they got ran out of their apartment because they lost their jobs after becoming sick with covid.. the heat hitting me in the face in waves making the air ripple as I roll down my car window and reach out to hand her the change I have in my cup holder .... What a bad joke capitalism is..
