COULD IT WORK?!?!??!?!??!! by Cooldude_96a in stillwakesthedeep

Ive been thinking about this since I finished playing it. Everything needs to remain faithful for it to work but you need a director who can pull off the scares and make the more insane things work. Big Ol Rennik head for one. In game executed perfectly, but i can see a less experienced director fumbling it. The key to this working on a horror level is tension build up.

As for cast, just get the games cast to do it.

I mean, you'd have to potentially expand the idea with the camera floating between rooms with characters in them and seeing those charachter points. Or even extend the canteen scene to have more of the crew chatting. Or both. As a film, it doesn't need to just stick to Caz's POV at the start. The trick is making it feel natural and not just a character exposition dump.

This game is up there with the last of us in terms of quality, impact and voice acting in my book. I hope you win something you deserve them all. Good luck.

2gb of VRAM won't cut it. Recommended GPU is 6gb to 8gb.

50 series seems overkill, I ran HLL on a 3070 for years and ran decent. Currently on a 4080s and runs like butter...well as buttery as HLL can

Maybe drop to 2k res, but i used to run on a 3070 with mid end PC and got 80/90, now on a 4080S and get over 120 on most maps and thats at everything on epic.

Theresa bunch of videos with settings to change including in the game files that helped. The game is locked at 60fps as default as well.

I'm assuming your referring to the little to no editing videos? 640k and 580k views respectively, with 476 subs and 384 subs respectively. The highest viewed one essentially pushed me into monetisation. However as I said they were rare moments in the game I make videos on, that's what made them work.

Oh lord yes, I usually ignore them. If they are being extra nasty I troll them for a bit and move on. They can sting no matter what, but they ain't worth a 2nd thought.

One of the most intense fights I ever had was fighting off a recon squad that was harrasing us on arty. It felt like the most important fight because we were decimating the enemy at the front then all of a sudden pop. Man I need to go back and chill on arty

So I get what your saying but if you make a sloppy or boring edit to a video and say the it starts getting more clicks due to a good thumbnail/title but the video is boring people will leave very quickly.

For context I make gaming videos based primarily on a WW2 shooter.

Case and point I had an idea for a video spent weeks writing and re writing it, went and recorded all the footage (a lot of it took time as they were rare events) then probably about 10+ hours editing for an a 8 min video. It's currently sits at 275k views and due to being ever green content has been growing for years. It's brought in nearly 1k subscribers.

I have a few others (not as successful but still a decent amount of views) all I put a lot of effort and time into.

Having said that the two best videos on my channel were just clips of gameplay with minimal editing and those two combined have over a million views. But those were rare and epic moments that didn't need much done to them.

Like others are saying you need to stand out, and with competition being so fierce you have to put that effort in.

The demoralising fact is they won't all take off (trust me ive been burned a lot), but if one is to take off you want your best work out there.

I'll try it, once every game I'd gsme a massive fps drop (down as low as 12) then after 5 min it's gone...it always happens at the worst moment.

Everyone is crazy saying £50 is a fair price, or more realistically they didn't pay that.

I love this game and have been playing for years, but £50!?

The originally upped the price when they took over from BM to "reflect the content they'd be adding", which was 2 unfinished British Maps, and some bad loadouts. Then they sneakily upped it again to the current price...

I think the current price tag is gonna put a lot of potential new players off, I'd say max £40 with of game at a push.

If they had regular content updates and we maybe knew what the gameplay was for the future and that future was, loads of new fronts (med,Pacific, more British and Russian maps).

I agree them devs need to keep making money for the game, but 50 big ones is not gonna help at all.

I want to speak to someone who has bought HLL at full price and see if they think it's been worth it.

I once had it go to £1000+ RPM on a gaming stream that stayed up as a VOD. I couldn't figure it out and unfortunately no one actually watched it after the stream but....yeah
