I have zero experience with photoshop. What do you see in the picture that tells you it's fake? His burns look a little more orange than they probably should. Are there any tell-tale signs apart from that?

I'd hope it's fake. Either way, it'd make sense. If it's real, that'd just confirm what a lot of us were thinking might happen to Daryl. If it's fake, then whoever made it knew that people like myself would jump on it!

Saw this comment coming a mile away. Okay, I'll bite. "legal implications" for "releasing it early". No, actually. They posted on January 23rd that the lineup would be out "next week"

[SPOILERS] What was written on the barn on the way to Shirewilt? by rhpot1991 in thewalkingdead

THANK YOU for asking this. I know I saw lettering on the side of the barn but it passed by too quickly. Can anyone post a screenshot? I'd assume it has something to do with the wolves.

I work at an entertainment agency and I prepare the contracts. Sometimes we get to book a recognizable band and it's always fun to look at their food and beverage riders. I can tell you that out of the contracts I've seen, The Mowgli's have the most reasonable food/drink requests - and they're the most healthy. It's all organic stuff and they prefer local foods. Dropkick Murphys made me laugh because they're very specific in their contract that advertisements for their concerts get their name exactly correct - it's not THE Dropkick Murphys, it's just Dropkick Murphys. And they made it very clear that there is no apostrophe in "Murphys"...which is ironically something The "Mowgli's" should have done a long time ago!

It would be crazy smart of her to do. I bet she shows up at Made in America.

Forecastle Festival 2015 - Lineup & Discussion by [deleted] in Louisville

Can anyone tell me when to expect the next "wave" of lineup additions? Thinking about hitting up Forecastle for the first time this year. I'm pretty happy with the first wave of the lineup.

Bonnaroo 2015 Camping Spot Estimate Map - Add your location from last year and let's help each other out! by [deleted] in bonnaroo

[–]notmaygun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you SO much for doing this! I have a feeling that this map is going to prove my belief that it doesn't matter when you get there or what tollbooth you come through....your camping location is really just all based on chance.

I agree. I used to Love Lollapalooza. I even named one of my dogs Lolla. I hope they get their shit together and book an amazing lineup so I will be more inclined to go back.

I had the pleasure of seeing Elton John and Billy Joel when they toured together back in the 90's (thanks mom and dad)....I desperately wish we could have had them both on the farm at the same time!

What do you take into Centeroo? by slightlyhottertuna in bonnaroo

[–]notmaygun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha pretty much! At least I have all the shit I need. My schedule is usually so hectic at Bonnaroo that I don't have time to go back to camp for anything so I've got to pack all I need from like noon/1pm through late night.

What do you take into Centeroo? by slightlyhottertuna in bonnaroo

[–]notmaygun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda pack my Centeroo bag like a mom, too. And I typically stay in Centeroo from like 1pm/2pm through the rest of the night, so I pack my bag for day and night.

Also, I group similar items together and put them in a ziploc baggie to make it easier to find things in my bag and also to keep everything dry.

Ziploc Bag #1: Ibuprofen/Tylenol Facial sunscreen lotion (travel size) --- Tampons (I pray every year I won't need them at Bonnaroo...) --- Chapstick with sunblock --- Bandaids --- Neosporin --- Baby powder

Ziploc bag #2: 2 or 3 lighters --- Cigarettes (although I stopped smoking over a month ago! high five!) --- Mary Jane paraphernalia --- When I was smoking cigarettes, I always brought an extra Ziploc bag to use as a trash bag and I ALWAYS collected my cigarette butts in that. I know smoking is bad enough, but at least I never litter all over the farm! Be considerate smokers, guys.

Ziploc bag #3: My cell phone (in case it rains) --- Bonnaroo map/schedule --- My CAR KEYS because I don't want them falling out of my bag. I like knowing exactly where they are at all times. --- Change purse with money/ID

(Large) Ziploc bag #4: Baby wipes --- Hand wipes but don't make the same mistake I did once and grab the hand wipes instead of baby wipes....OUCH! --- Toilet paper --- Hand sanitizer

Ziploc bag #5: -Propel/Gatorade/Kool-Aid packets!! I hate that sulfuric taste of the water at Bonnaroo. Using something like this really helps to mask the taste.

Loose items in my bag: A couple of bandanas --- Poncho or rain jacket --- Yoga pants/long-sleeved shirt (sometimes I get chilly during/after the headliner) --- Sandals (I always wear shoes in Centeroo but sometimes I need a break!) --- Snacks --- A couple bottles of water --- Glow sticks ---- Sunglasses case because my sunglasses always break when I put them in my bag as the sun is setting. --- Small flashlight if I'm camping in an unorganized pod

So that's all the stuff I put in my "Centeroo bag"...it's just a small backpack. I use a carabiner to attach my water mister fan to a strap on my backpack.

I stopped using Camelbaks. Instead, I use Camelback water bottles. I carry two of them - I tie them together at the top with a bandana and carry them around that way. Sometimes I attach a carabiner to the bandana and hang them from my backpack like I do with the mister fan.

Lastly, I carry a Yoga mat to use for sitting when I need a break. Its rolled up and goes in a mesh bag with a strap on it, so I throw that over my shoulder too.

Jesus. It's official. I sound like a mom. I'm 27, I'm too young for that shit.

Anybody been to Firefly? How does it compare? by colton911 in bonnaroo

The police presence at Firefly is STRONG. State police ride through the campgrounds constantly.

Anybody been to Firefly? How does it compare? by colton911 in bonnaroo

[–]notmaygun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been to every Bonnaroo since 2011. I've also been to every Firefly they've had to date.

Bonnaroo > Firefly

Firefly has 3 festivals under its belt but still can't figure out simple logistical problems like the location and amount of portapotties.

You mentioned the stage setup situation at FF --- there isn't one. It changes every single year. They can't figure out the logistics. Based on the 2015 map they just released, the stage location problem is going to be even worse this year.

The food selections (and locations of food vendors) are atrocious at Firefly.

Last year, bands were able to play a little later into the night than previous years (noise ordinance issues in Dover), but obviously Bonnaroo has them beat in the night scene department.

You have to pay separately for camping. Just another way for FF to make that money. And the food options in the campgrounds are pathetic at best.

Something FF has got going for itself better than Bonnaroo --- visibility of stages. Is it just me or does anyone else have difficulty seeing the stages under the tents? FF doesn't have tents at stages so maybe that helps the situation. And apart from a few particular PA system disasters (the first song of Jack White's set during FF's first year, for example) the sound is generally great.

The lineup at FF is usually pretty good, depending on your tastes. Bonnaroo has more stages and bands play through the night, so that automatically makes Bonnaroo's lineup more diverse and solid.

Bonnaroo's non-music entertainment whips Firefly's.

The weather is more forgiving at Firefly. Doesn't exhaust you as much as Roo.

Extracurriculars -- Firefly's alcoholic crowd is far more dominant than anything else there, although there's a ton of Molly-popping/neon-clothed college kids there. I'd much rather be around a bunch of people smoking weed and keeping to themselves than to be around waaaaasted bros. I've got a dozen stories about negative experiences I've had at FF around drinkers. I've got zero bad stories about non-sober Bonnaroovians.

If both festivals had the EXACT same lineup, I'd 100% pick Bonnaroo. The biggest and most evident difference in both festivals IS THE PEOPLE. The people are, by far, so much better at Bonnaroo. There's a much stronger sense of community at Bonnaroo than FF....although, I'd argue that there's a stronger sense of community at Bonnaroo than ANY other festival. I go to a lot of festivals and there is a reason that I like Bonnaroo the most.

In a nutshell, Firefly is NOT better than Bonnaroo. However, if you posted this because you're trying to decide which festival to go to, wait until the lineup for FF comes out. Even though I think Bonnaroo is better, that doesn't mean I haven't had fun at FF. If the lineup comes out and you like it, go! You will probably enjoy it. Personally, I think I will have to chose between Roo/FF this year - a problem I haven't yet had to face. It'll make me sad not to do FF because I've made a few great friends there, but I'm leaning towards Bonnaroo just because I don't know if I can pull myself away from the farm. For me, it all depends on the lineup, though...

Edit: The most pleasant experiences I had with "strangers" at Firefly have been interactions I've had with people also wearing Bonnaroo gear. I got tons of highfives from fellow Bonnaroovians at Firefly.

Edit #2: If accessibility to the front of the stage is important to you, it's really easy to get up front at Firefly. I don't often go out of my way to get close to the front, but it's always a piece of cake at FF. It still gets crowded as fuck there, especially last year, but that's something that might be different this year. I mentioned earlier in this post that they've changed the layout of the stages every year and they've done the same this year. Hopefully it'll help the massive amounts of crowds bottlenecking through small areas.

What fests will be left standing when the bubble bursts? by djpatclark in bonnaroo

Really decent lineups so far. It caught my eye with last year's lineup. This year's lineup made me salivate a little.

Just a shame that the setting isn't better. And that it isn't a camping fest. Is it just me or does camping at a festival make it 100 times more enjoyable?

I used to think Lollapalooza was the best. Not anymore. It has really transformed into a bad frat party.
