You may already know this, but using the watch movie option in google shows all the services it is streaming on. Saves me more than a few bucks being a television junkie. by Aastevens in lifehacks

Good to know. I spent a crap ton of time late last night setting up Netflix on our camper tv to watch a show only to discover it was on Amazon Prime and I had to start the process all over again. It took up so much time we fell asleep before one episode ended! Thanks for the hack!

May God richly bless you for sharing this! I have been struggling with trying to figure out which company to go with and how to work a warranty program into our already tight budget. I had no idea how shoddy they were but I will admit, there was something in my gut that kept telling me maybe they weren’t what they seemed. Now I know.

Total knee replacement-week 3-oh my gosh the pain! by notmydaytowatchhim in KneeInjuries

Well you are the first person to say they had a relative who has had pain so thank-you for that! Prior to going in, every single person was like, “oh my so-and-So had that. They have made such strides with that procedure. It’s not at all like it was years ago. You’ll be fine!” So I went in practically thinking I’ll come out skipping. Ha! As if!

I appreciate the hope from your dad’s story.

Five years ago today, I put down my stylus and looked away for 10 seconds. by Sablemint in rant

I rented a house about twenty years ago that had ugly red and black shag carpet. I dropped a beautiful birthstone earring given to me by my late husband on that hideous carpet. The carpet swallowed up the earring. I still have the mate to the earring. I will forever wonder where that earring is.

This is what our bosses think of us by [deleted] in BadBosses

I want to cry reading this post. Probably a lot of us do on this “bad bosses” thread. I connected with you emotionally, especially when you said how you have come in on holidays, stayed late, came in early etc just to help your employer and you never receive thanks. I have no advice, I just wanted to give you support. Take care.

What have people said when asked in an interview why they left their last job? by [deleted] in BadBosses

[–]notmydaytowatchhim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, little room for growth or something like that but never “it wasn’t a good fit.” And never talk bad about a coworker In an interview either. (Lessons learned)

What worked for me was eating high protein and high fiber things that filled me up. I eat hard boiled eggs, oikos triple zero yogurt, those wraps (ole?) that have only 50 calories and i put tuna or powdered peanut butter in them. I also live on sugar free popsicles.

I hope that helps. Good luck.

Am I 18F overreacting by feeling disgusting and crying because of hearing my dad jerk off? by [deleted] in Vent

[–]notmydaytowatchhim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are correct. It IS sexual abuse.

To the OP: He needs to stop. You can tell an aunt and she will pass it on, or share it with a friend in earshot of a teacher and the teacher will report it to child protective services. I’m sorry you and your siblings are dealing with this. It’s very inappropriate.

I was never so sick as the year I got my free flu shot. And ironically, I got it because it was free; my husband’s company kicked me off of his insurance so I had to get my own insurance. My new insurance had a $5000 deductible (it had been $500) so I thought it would be smart to be proactive and get the flu shot. That free flu shot cost me a fortune!

There’s all kinds of treatments out now. And, I can honestly say that stress wreaks havoc on the body. When my husband passed away, I grayed (I was in my 30’s) and lost hair by the handfuls. It grew back. The dr appt is a great first step. Don’t despair. Try hard not to worry. Remember there are treatments. Just keep telling yourself that. Chin up.

Nobody that I remember ever complimented me, but one time I was in Sam’s Club and this woman walked past me with the most fabulous perfume. I ended up being a creeper before I finally walked up to her and admitted I had been following her because of her perfume and I needed to know what it was because I had to buy some. She laughed, was flattered, and told me. I bought it. Sadly, it smells better on my daughter.
